Theories on Worldview
Each page should contain a page number in the upper right-hand corner.
We have transitioned to using APA 7th edition which no longer requires the use of a running
head on student papers. Moving forward there will be no need to include this on your work.

Theories on Worldview
There are different theories to what affects an individual's worldview and perspective.
When studying the ideas behind developmental psychology, we express worldview from
exposures of our growth, changing environment, and life encounters. This essay will cover
worldview applying theories of developmental psychology. Our worldview evolves as we
establish positive and negative relationships from conception to death. With our experience in
the secular world is, fundamental beliefs can change. This essay will examine Behaviorism
through Operant Conditioning.
Why Worldview Interactions Matter
In each of our interactions with positive or negative relationships, the effect will
significantly change our worldview. This emergent is different for each individual based on
ethics, culture, economics, early childhood elaboration, and religion each affect one's
worldviews. We may share a population or community, but we represent a single organism
within each. B. F Skinner tells us that Operant Conditioning is a process of behavior that an
individual is exposed to and learns. These interactions create a response with optimistic or
undesirable consequences. (Cashion, 2019)
When including a citation at the end of a sentence, the sentence punctuation needs to be
placed after the citation. If this was my sentence here is how that would look (Kennedy, 2019).
When including citations the exact formatting is very specific. Most APA citations follow the
author, date of publication format. So, in the case of our textbook that would look like (Cashion
et al., 2019). Notice there is an “et al.” which is Latin for “and others” since our textbook has
several authors. The citation can also be included using the narrative method-i.e. According to
Cashion et al. (2019) … Both forms are acceptable.

Operant Development Theory
If I divided the experience of my life into decades of worldviews, I would have five
segments. I would find reinforcer and punishment that contained consequences of thought out,
each with affirmative and destructive. When we are young, we rely on our parents before
developing our processing capabilities. The worldviews they believe in are transmitted to each of
us. It does not mean we will always follow them, but we are capable of learning from them if we
choose. The most significant reinforcement I received from my parent was love and
understanding of Jesus Christ as my Savior. I was not living a God-centered life in the middle
part of my life. I never doubted his power or love, but I was not living according to the teachings
of Jesus. What my parents did which came back to me can be found in Proverbs 22:6 "Train a
child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." (NIV) It turned into a
positive reinforcement because the behavior this reoccurring behavior is part of my life today. In
each time segment of my life, when I experienced toxic relationships, poor career decisions, or
personal loss, I would turn to my bible. It was the voluntary response I learned from the God-
centered environment in early childhood. I knew Jesus was the one place of refuge I could obtain
the peace in my heart that I needed. In Luke 15: 11-32, The Parable of the Prodigal Son is an
example of how I strayed away from our Heavenly Father. When a person has the operant
conditioning of religion in their early life, this seed of life will persist within their worldview.
Summary and Reflection
The seed of Jesus Christ as my Savior was rooted in my worldview when I was young.

plans in a person's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails. (Proverbs 19:21, NIV) There
