If I were to lead a seminar for upcoming freshman I would take the
different learning styles into consideration before continuing. Because
there’s such a variation in the way an individual absorbs the information
they are being taught the best learning style that covers that majority
would be cognitive learning. Cognitive learning defined is a type of
learning that is active, constructive, and long lasting. (2021, Grade power
learning and G. B. Tokoni inc.) With this style of learning memory,
comprehension, and application are improved because cognitivism
emphasizes that learners are different ( Introduction to Psychology, chap.
4, pg. 175). When studying you can also use the cognitive learning
approach because we create whats called a cognitive map, that allows us
to navigate our enviorment forming a mental reprensentation of our world
as it is a uniqually cognitive activity. ( Introduction to Psychology, chap. 4,
pg. 174).

Cautions of multitasking:
When multitasking you have to be very cautious because it can be very
dangerous not only to us physically but mentally as well. For example if
you are trying to study for an upcoming exam, while surfing the internet
and also texting your friend your attention is no longer focused on the task
of studying your attention is focusing on multiple things at once, which
will make it harder to tune out distractions later on. Multitasking can lead
to cognitive overload in the brain making it harder to distinguish from
distractions along with the important information our brain takes in. In a
recent study people who were frequent media mutlitaskers had reduction
in their brains grey matter, specifically in ther area related to cognitive
control. (Psychology Today, Dr. Guy Winch, PHD). When multitasking
remember these two rules, limit the things you try to jungle while also
using the 20 minute rule.
