Joel 1:14 states, “Consecrate a fast; call a solemn assembly. Gather the elders and all the
inhabitants of the land to the house of the Lord your God and cry out to the Lord.” In this
particular passage the word of importance here is the word “assembly”. The word “assembly” is
so important here because this is the central target of God’s will and message for this verse. The
English word assembly is translated into the Hebrew word ”בכרה” or “ה ָר ָצ ֲע".
