Peer Mentoring On Prevention Of Burnout Of New Nurses And Nursing Students
Nursing is a career that is constantly changing, risky, and stressful. Eighty-five percent of nurses
and healthcare professionals encounter traumatic incidents, which harm the caregiver's bodily
and emotional health. Chronic or acute exposure to unpleasant occurrences might have
harmful implications, whether connected to the workplace or patient care. Burnout,
compassion fatigue, post-traumatic stress disorder, patient errors or poor results, horizontal
violence, and even nurses leaving the profession are all possible repercussions. A technique
that may help nurses and other healthcare professionals cope with these situations is to
provide peer support through a formal framework. Most articles reviewed in the section below
however, did not provide the required the correlation between peer support and nurse job
burnout a gap that will be addressed by my dissertation.
