Introduction
Mentoring is a process for the informal transmission of knowledge, social capital and the
psychosocial support perceived by the recipient as relevant to work, career or professional
development; mentoring entails informal communication, usually face-to-face and during a
sustained period of time, between a person who is perceived to have greater relevant knowledge,
wisdom or experience (the mentor) and a person who is perceived to have less (the protégé).1
Having a mentor it tends to help by leading and guiding the individual through many facets of a
mentorship. This is also a helpful approach to get feedback about mentoring while self-
confidence are still being cultivated but willingly fulfilling their role.
One main factor to having an outstanding mentorship by making sure the guide (mentor)
has the capability (experience) as to what the needs of the mentee seeking to receive and that the
mentor in a place that the mentee ultimately wish. In other words, if an individual seeking
mentorship from a leader in the ministry, they should not be mentoring from someone who has
not serve in that area. Besides, it could debate that the advisor (mentor) should be a leader that is
active in the ministry because individual need to be surround themselves with others who are
where they see themselves. For instance, you have to surround yourself with people that has the
desire you are looking for. Meaning if you have the desire to be rich you should not seek
guidance from someone that is poor. If your desire is to become part of the pastoral care team,
the mentor should have experience about the pastoral care team. Another amazing fact about
mentoring is impartation among the mentee and the mentor. The experience you can gain,
knowledge, encouragement and support from each other. During mentorship, the mentor gain the

same knowledge, it seems to be a give and receive type of relationship. The mentorship will
flourish into a fruitful correlation if both the mentor and mentee are an interdependent team with.
Comparison
During both interviews that were organized, the mentee did not honestly initiate the
connection. There was one of the relationships were proposed by the mentor while the other
interview by reciprocal communication. This probably came about because some individuals,
specifically are new, and may be insensitive to the matter a mentor is needed. Generally
speaking, some people are remorseful of untruth their own dependability to strongly achieve a
task without the help of others individuals, and there is a chance for a few defeat to grasp that
help is required. Dignity could also be a relating part. It could possibly be human nature to reject
asking others for help.
Another common factor among the interviews is that they both have a straightforward
connection as there is not really a set date or time for encounter. Majority of their meetings
happens before service or after, in a form of informal discussion or over a brunch once service
has ended. A lot of this in regards to the pandemic as strict gatherings would have been halt for a
minute, peculiarly seeing that the broad masses of church ministries had to go on a transitory
break for church services.
Both of the relationships employed ethics to encourage growth and progression. The
pandemic put tension/stress on a few of the values that were in place, nevertheless a way was
used to analysis the accomplishment. One of the mentors was certain that at one of the meetings,
the mentee would establish principles and for follow up meeting to see if the goals are
accomplished.

Each person that were interviewed also determined that they gain from the mentorship
just as the other person. A simple point was the mentor retain the related knowledge, that they
are still willing to attain different things from the mentee too. It can also help to promote
encouragement when communication is strong and they are willingly to perceive the mentees
effort and eagerness to cultivate and their devotion to the church.
Both of the mentors displayed the usefulness of communicating within the relationship as
a mentor. This is an imperative integral to accountability. Without having any accountability,
especially in a ministry, one will not undoubtedly argued to be exceptional as a result there
would not be anyone (worldly) to justification to if accomplishments is not accomplished or
aimed for.
The mentors helps the mentees to understand and develop their capabilities, they tend to
feel more useful. The mentor give their mentees the opportunity to progress and boosting them to
achieve their values. Encouragement is an essential integral of everywhere, so the mentors need
strive to keep their mentees guided and encouraged. These chances should be suitable to the
uncommon desire of the mentees and encompass training, or contributing time for teaching and
mentoring the mentee individually. The mentors are focused on teaching their mentee the
abilities they can to be able to help them in life, work, home, and they are encouraged to create
learning principles for themselves.
Another comparison among the two is that both of the trainee have past and present
knowledge in ministry. Which gives attention to the concerns of mentorship within church
ministry. Some things cannot be experienced by taking classes but need to be granted by
individuals who have endured some of those same issues and have the true to life experience to

follow back on. If it was not for mentoring within the church it could possibly hard for ministries
to carry on.
Contrast
One main contrast amidst among the two connections is that even though they are both
expressed straightforward, one is structured much better than the other because one have been
mentoring for decades. For instance, one of the mentorship takes on an identical way to an
understanding while the other seems to comes yonder a slightly more like that of an expert and
servant, although not in a demanding way. The mentor in the more authorized interconnection
apply patterns and structure that grant the mentee to categorized and grade their selves. Those
patterns establish other facets numbering them from one to ten, with one being extremely poor
and ten being exceptional. The mentor does not normally grant any ones or tens on those
assessments because in their assumption, any concerns should have been discussed before it
became a one also we have to remember there is always room for improvement no one is perfect.
Mentees generally grasp that there are numerous contrasting viewpoint on varied subjects and
that various aspects has some of purpose to contribute with them also. This could possibly assist
them to think innovational and expand their own mindset about what perspective of life and task
are essential for achievement.
Another huge contrast among the two is that one, the mentee older than the
mentor. In the other words, the mentee is eldest than the mentor! This could possibly devise
some issues because it can be harder for a mentor to help a person who is older aged wise. Those
new attitudes, advice or determined judgment because the logic development of “they so young
they do not know nothing” can flare up quickly. Even when the knowledge being acknowledge
well by the mentor, it can still be difficult to get a person who is older to disregard a custom

because of how they were taught back centuries ago. One of the interviewee recommended that it
is imperative to reconstruct the mentee up and not give them the feeling that the mentor knows
more and belittling them from a higher position also implicating that age difference, and that
something are not naturally misguided just because they are divergent. A mentee have to learn
they can gain from having first hand guidance and suggestion from the mentor, which will allow
for healthy moments.
Conclusion
One central advantage of being a mentor is the capability of helping other individuals.
Some people oftentimes encounter elevated determination when they know they can help other
people – especially in capacity where they have practiced anticipated defeat themselves. Mentors
benefit mentees by partaking their skills, knowledge and their experience with the mentees,
whether this is through specific input. Actually, mentoring is about helping other individuals to
flourish and enlarge on their own way.
My interviewees, once they became a mentor, they had to learn having the freedom to
experience critique and afterwards establishing themselves to becoming an effective listener to
what others people have to say about their values. As they became more familiarized to allowing
positive feedback and listening willingly, they find out about themselves that they are able to
connect better with other people generally speaking. For instance, the mentors have found out
they actually do learn from their mentees about certain subjects as they continue mentoring their
person.
7
The interviewees produces a close-knit, abiding connections with the mentees. Those
connections can be exceptionally profitable to the mentors as they imbibe how to better connect
with other people and start brand new relationships. The connections can be because the mentors
have much needed experience interconnect expertly or individually, and they can contribute
understanding into specialized plan of action that work for them. Both of the mentors and
mentees oftentimes contribute some of the same principles and values, those connections
generally become lifelong friendships.
