ABSTRACT
In the book, “Practicing Greatness: 7 Disciplines of extraordinary spiritual leaders,"
McNeal speaks about how important it is for strong spiritual Christian leaders today. The author
speaks about the good and bad characteristics of leadership and how to help other leaders
develop a good character to become a good leader. According to the author, "The ambition to
become a great spiritual leader frees the spirit from the idolatry of self-centeredness, because
greatness is the spiritual world cannot be pursued without cultivating God-consciousness."

Francis, CA: Jossey-Bass. The author did an excellent job explaining the importance of
leadership from his experience of coaching and mentoring leaders.
