Secondary Areas of Study: Public Health - 9 credit hour.
Graduate classes:
HLTH 500 (Intro to Public Health)
HLTH 507 (Public Health Administration)
Part Two:
Step One: Define the problem or state the focus question.
-The focus question is on how military resilience and public and community health both
combine to catered to the well-being of active-duty service members and civilians.
Step Two: Justify using an interdisciplinary approach.
Using an interdisciplinary approach to military resilience and public and community can be very
complex and the framework around it has many challenges that can intersect between the
disciplines and areas of study. Using the interdisciplinary research process will help to
understand the justification of this approach (Repko & Szostak, 2021, pp. 76-77). Military
resilience and public and community healthcare studies does draw insights. The military
emphasizes on adapting to the environment, being resourceful and the ability to accept
challenges when faced with it. The integration offers insights into these complex issues which is
mad for proactive movements. Incorporating the knowledge from different fields will give you a
deeper looking into the approach to solve problems. Integrating expertise from many
disciplines can help maximized the effectiveness and approach consist of military science,
economics, and the integration of public health and community health which heighten the level
of resiliency and well-being of citizens. The military is complex within itself, and the operations
can have profound implications in the community of public and community health. In military
resilience, it’s important to understand deployments schedules, training and exercise, and
military presence across nations and at home in the U.S. This influence of the military can help
with the spreading of infectious diseases, the treatment of infection, the issues of mental
health, hazardous pollution, and environmental health concerns. The interdisciplinary
perspective of this allows for the holistic understanding of the dynamic which enables the
development, and the risk poses to protect our military service members and our civilian
citizens.
In healthcare, public and community healthcare plays an important part on the supporting our
military service members. The collaboration between both military and civilian healthcare
groups can part an essential part to optimized healthcare, emergency preparedness and
readiness, and incorporating with the response time and efforts. Interdisciplinary approach
does facilitate a wide range of knowledge, the resources at hand and using the best practice to
propel both sectors in addressing all challenges that will be faced merging both areas of studies
and the collective well-being of all citizens whether military or civilians. Moreover, the
collaborations between both can unlocked new and improved innovations to solve complex
problems. Working together does bring a diverse perspective to problems in public and
community and military operations. Furthermore, no single discipline cannot solve complexity
issue of public and community health and military resilience. This is a multifaceted piece that
needs more than one approach to reach a solution and by addressing the social determinants of
health care it will broaden the scope for the communities that will receive the help needed.
