My research topic is going to focus on Autism and communication. Autism is a condition
related to brain development that impacts how a person perceives and socializes with others,
causing problems in social interaction and communication. Communication is a process by
which information is exchanged between individuals through a common system of symbols,
signs, or behavior. Everyone knows communication is something everyone needs in their life to
be able to function without communication. How can individuals be able to funicational tell
someone what is going on like if they were sick. This is the reason I find this topic to be complex
because communication is something everyone needs in this world. Even if it's from sign
language to a speech device it's still a way for someone to be able to communicate their wants
and needs to someone else.

Step 5:
My two areas of studies are psychology and communication. Psychology is my main focus as
communication is my second focus. Psychology is the study of how people behave, think and
feel, and communication is the imparting or exchanging of information or news. When it comes
to psychology and the research topic I will be discussing we need to look at Autism. Autism is a
brain disorder so this disorder can affect the way people behave, think and feel and as for
communication individuals with this disorder have a social impairment that they need help to be

able to functionally communicate with others. I learned in my communication classes that there
are many ways to communicate with others and that's very important information when it comes
to my topic. As for adequacy. Adequacy is defined as the quality or state of being adequate.
Being adequate is very important when it comes to research and writing on your research.
