Interdisciplinarity has always been a word I have a hard time saying when I try to explain
my degree to someone. I literally mess it up every time. Although it means so much to me now.
It means combining two of my favorite subjects in the world and allowing me to learn in both
areas at the same time. One subject matter you research and research until you cannot anymore
but when looking into interdisciplinarity studies a person gets to see how one subject content
flows into that of another. It brings passion to the areas of study you did not even know were
there. A person gets to combine two or more subject matters into one activity to make something
some people did not even know was possible. Interdisciplinarity means getting to explore the
depths of subjects in new ways and from a very new and different perspective. A person may
think they know everything about something but when a person combines it with another subject
matter, they begin to explore a world of endless possibilities. A person can begin to see how
subjects cross over one another and create so many different avenues to venture down.
Interdisciplinarity studies is truly amazing.
I have learned so much in this class the subject matters I am studying are education and
religion. As many people know those two subjects have been pushed away from one another.
Religion is no longer allowed in schools. Although as I have been studying these two subject
matters, I come to realize that the two subjects fit together. In school we learn many of our
morals especially if they are not being taught in the home. Many parents want their children to
not murder, steal, love and respect people, etc. and the same morals that the bible teaches are
what parents want their children to possess. So if they were to allow religion to renter the
schools I believe we may find that the generations coming up would be way less disrespectful
than they are now. I am currently a teacher at a preschool and I have taught in taught in a school
that is faith based and one that is not. The difference in the way the students act, and respect
authority is

passion for how my two disciplines are able to way together.
