Interdisciplinarity
Interdisciplinarity is the ideology of incorporating several academic fields of knowledge to
develop an understandable scenario of the whole world's relevant picture, phenomenon, religion,
among other important events of life that bring a solution to the world's problem. The ideology
of interdisciplinarity became a phenomenon in late 1900 as it came to offer help to the
institutionalization and grouping of academic research and the vast transition in the community
(Vaz et al., 2017). Therefore, academic institutions have adopted this ideology hence have
interdisciplinarity profiles like the geography departments. However, the utilization of
interdisciplinarity majorly depends on the network of individual academics. Therefore, those
responsible for producing interdisciplinarity materials have to oblige to teach philosophy and
good communication skills to satisfy the needs of a diverse body of students who have a passion
for interdisciplinarity studies. Since this aspect deals with putting together different ideologies
and practices, it gives students diversified challenges hence experience, thus leading to more
creativity. This essay prompts interdisciplinarity, reflection, and the world view.
Interdisciplinarity aspect
Interdisciplinarity having the aspect of incorporating distinct fields of academic into one
research benefits the students for they develop insights into a variety of fields of education, thus
equipping them with more skills than the students who concentrate in one field of academic field
(Annan-Diab & Molinari 2017). The students who have encountered interdisciplinarity are also
advantaged because, with interdisciplinarity, the ideology incorporates many practicals from
different areas of academic fields (MacLeod & Nagatsu 2018). The practical is advantageous for
they build on the experience that is imperative for the student's career. When students who
underwent interdisciplinarily and those who did not are compared in the academic field, those

who underwent the interdisciplinarity studies seem more active and more aware of their field.
Therefore, the world reception towards interdisciplinarity is positive for many academic
institutions over the last decade are embracing and utilizing the ideology.
My experience.
I encountered interdisciplinarity when I was doing my research that incorporated business and
paralegal studies. On one side, a paralegal is the study of procedures that autonomously or
sometimes semi-autonomously act as part of the legal; assistance system that performs as a result
of understanding the required legal system to enable rational executions. On the other hand, I
was tackling my business study, which is commonly defined as accountancy, finance, marketing,
organizational studies, and operations. This means that business studies generally are the
academic approach of the business field. During the semester, I did a project that incorporated
the two different aspects of the academic field. This added my knowledge in the business area
and my knowledge in the paralegal area.
The aspect in my research
My research project dealt with a paralegal firm that profits from legal activities like
settlements and court filings, among other activities (Moran, 2018). The project was depicted
how the paralegal firm makes a profit from its client, thus bringing the aspect of the business. In
the project, the paralegal team function was to advertise itself to attract clients; after that, the
clients required legal assistance agreement with the firm on some terms and conditions that each
team must adhere to. After an agreement is met, the film tackles the client's issue at an agreed fee
in which, after the expenditures incurred, the firm still has to make a profit (Infante-Moro et al.,
2019). Depending on the organization and size of the paralegal firm, they had other sub-offices
like the marketing department to reach out to the customers and human resources that ensure the

firm is equipped with an appropriate workforce. To achieve both in the project, I had to research
a lot about the business and how to profit from it and paralegal on how the laws and policies vary
in each country. Knowing that both the two academic fields have built my career appropriately
for their creativity will help me handle career problems efficiently.
