Reports by alleged victims to adult protective services. The Gerontological Society of
America, XX(XX), 1-12. DOI: 10.1093/geront/gny091
The authors implemented and assessed the Abuser Risk Measure (ARM) to evaluate the
validity of elder abuse. An empirical analysis followed a theoretical analysis to
understand the role that measures of abuser risk play both in the case of assessment and
in research. ARM results were better predicted based on the results of this data collection.

Developing and pilot testing an adult protective services worker engagement training in

This article enhanced Adult Protective Services (APS) workers' engagement skills
through the "Opening the Door" development and pilot testing in New York City. As a
result, elder Abuse (EA) can be detected and intervened against using the methodology
and multi-step training provided by APS.

An examination of the caregiver's characteristics and perceptions of the risk of abuse or
neglect of the elderly adult was conducted using the Under-Accommodative Behavior
model of the elderly care receiver. It can be challenging to comprehend care receivers
who receive care from a caregiver within the home, mainly if there is a breakdown in
communication between caregiver and care receiver. Therefore, the purpose of
developing the Under-Accommodative Behavior model was to test this model in
predicting elder abuse and neglect; however, the proposed model's relationships between
the caregiver and care receiver are only somewhat endowed.

An elder abuse incident occurs if a caregiver or other individual intentionally or
negligently causes harm to a vulnerable adult or poses a severe risk of damage to that
adult, as defined in the textbook. Research is based on the history of elder abuse and
policies that directly address it, significantly as the older population increases each year,
to understand how to serve them competently.

In this article, healthcare providers are presented with interventions to consider for
dealing with elder abuse in the context of the current pandemic and its increased risk
effects on older adults, their caregivers, and the process of health caregiving. In addition,
the aging population is susceptible to social isolation, financial hardship, issues accessing
health care, and anxiety about COVID-19.

Elder abuse and neglect: an overlooked patient safety issue. A focus group study of
nursing home leaders' perceptions of elder abuse and neglect. BMC health services
research, 20(1), 1-14. https://doi.org/10.1186/s12913-020-5047-4
This article explores nursing home leaders' perceptions of elder abuse and neglect as an
overlooked patient safety issue in health care facilities. Several suggestions include the
widespread screening of nursing home leaders and healthcare providers, educating them
about elder abuse and neglect. Nursing home residents are vulnerable to harm and
distress, so abuse from co-residents was classified into three categories: 1) Care leaders
perceived resident-to-resident aggression as usual and had no strategy to deal with it; 2)
The abuse of relatives by nursing home residents is considered a private matter; relatives
who show abusive behavior should not be contacted by nursing home residents. 3) Abuse
by direct-care staff: 'An unthinkable event'; staff-to-resident abuse was perceived as
complex to discuss and discord with the leaders' trust in their employees. Care managers
are therefore perceived to lack knowledge and strategies to identify how to manage abuse
and neglect in nursing homes adequately.

Development and implementation of a coordinated community response to address elder
abuse and neglect. Journal of forensic nursing, 18(3), 156-163.
DOI: 10.1097/JFN.0000000000000378
This article provides a thorough overview of the development, implementation, and
evaluation of the interagency functioning of a local CCR; in which the background,
methods, evaluation, and discussion of Coordinated Community Response (CCR) serves
better victims of elder abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation. As part of the program,
all service providers must complete a uniform consent form that can share protected
client data among them. A technology-driven infrastructure will also aid in documenting
and referring services.

Scale and two raters independently to assign levels of evidence (data) based on the
articles' methodological quality. In addition to age, sex, marital status, income, education

attempts, dependence on others for daily activities, cognitive function, chronic diseases,

dimensional fashion but rather in a way that incorporates all dimensions and their
interdependences.

This article provides an observation on understanding the global challenges of the aging

determines how frequently elder abuse, neglect, self-neglect, and exploitation occurs;
how suspected causes are observed in actual cases; what barriers to service exist.

The prevalence of elder abuse in institutional settings: a systematic review and meta-

An overview of the elder abuse concern in institutional settings and an estimation of the
prevalence of elder abuse are the goals of this review. Institutional elder abuse is
widespread; preventing it requires global action to improve surveillance and monitoring.
