Introduction
Attention
Advancing the Gospel and the Kingdom
Need
What motive do we need to have in order to properly share the Gospel?
BRIDGING SENTENCES
[Subject: Modifier:]
Gospel Mission
Textual Idea:
We will suffer as a believer. This is in the very words of Christ. However, when we suffer,
we can rest assured the Kingdom will advance so long as our motives are pure and we
can rejoice through that suffering.
Sermon Idea:
We are ordered, not recommended to share the Gospel. We are to walk in this boldness
to bring this message to the world. When we encounter things in our life that make this
difficult, we can rest assured knowing our struggles will become a blessing to others
through the advancement of the Gospel.
Interrogative:
How do we boldly share the Gospel in times of suffering?
Transition:
Believers must know what they believe in order to actually follow through with ministry.
Body
DIVISION 1 STATEMENT
The Gospel must be proclaimed at all times. (Phil. 1:18, NKJV).
Explanation
No matter if we are placed in a situation that requires our life, we are to praise God and
still share the Gospel message until our death.
Illustration
Story of S. Sundar Singh. When we are struggling, the Gospel will still advance.
Argumentation
Struggles produce genuiness of faith and will be found to be praise, honor, and glory of
Christ (1 Pet. 1:7, NJKV)
Application
We can trust God to take care of us no matter the circumstance.
Transition (Div. 1 to Div. 2)
Once the believer knows and believes they must proclaim the Gospel no matter what,
they must look at their motives.
DIVISION 2 STATEMENT
The Gospel must be preached with pure motives (Phil. 1:15, NKJV).
Explanation
False teachers that preach lies and hypocrisy are prevalent and will ultimately harm the
spread of the Gospel. Pastors that focus on health and wealth versus Christ’s sacrifice
are inflicting damage on the advancement of the Gospel.
Illustration
Jesus explicitly condemned the Pharisess for being hypocrites and not progressing the
Gospel but rather they shut up the message and Jesus told them they would receive the
greater condemnation.

Argumentation
Hypocritical church leaders need to just disappear. Laity has caused enough hurt to
members of the church body.
Application
Get right, get real, get ready! We need to ensure our motives are not for selfish gain but
rather directed for Christ.
Transition (Div. 2 to Div. 3)
Believers must know what they believe in order to have boldness.
DIVISION 3 STATEMENT
The Gospel must be preached with boldness. (Phil. 1:1, NKJV).
Explanation
Boldness can be in presentation of the Gospel or in endurance of the circumstances.
Illustration
Bold action proves bold faith! Mustard seed faith (Matt. 17:20)
Argumentation
When we are able to share God’s message, we cannot tell people what they want to hear.
The Gospel is offensive (but this doesn’t mean we need to make it worse). We must be
honest and bold.
Application
Even in our suffering, ridiciule, or presecution, we must share the Gospel with those
around us.
Transition (Div 3 to Div 4)
Some will receive and others will not. When there is someone that does receive the
Gospel, we rejoice.
DIVISION 4 STATEMENT
The Gospel must be rejoiced over when received. ((Phil. 1:18, NKJV).
Explanation
We have become to laizze-faire about new believers and it is no longer a big deal for a
new believer to accept Christ.
Illustration
Get this image. When a sinner comes to Jesus, there is joy and happiness by the angels
(Lk. 5:10). Even in the story of the Prodigal Son, there was jy and rejoicing over the son
coming home (Lk. 15:22-32).
Argumentation
We don’t have enough joy over those coming to Christ. We stop short in celebrating and
growing them.
Application
We must mentor and grow a new believer and that starts with celebrating them coming
to know Jesus.
Transition (Div. 4 to Concl.)
We must strive to be more joyous over those coming to Christ and celelbrate our family
growing. We must lead, guide, and mentor the new believer into a way that encourages
them to continue growth.
Conclusion
Visualization
Have you ever done anything in your life where you were fearful to do it? Have you ever
started a new job, met new friends, or even publicly spoken? There was fear. Did you do
it anyways? Our motives must be pure enough to triumph over fear to the point we
become bold in what we believe.
Reiteration
When we suffer, we show our faith in Christ (or lack thereof). If we hold onto the
promises of Christ and share the Gospel while in the middle of trials, we come through
smooth and polished and the gold of the Gospel message shines bright.
Action
Advancing the Gospel requires sacrifice. It requires us to get out of our comfort zone and
open our mouth. We must move when we are told and we must hold on in the middle of
our trial to what we are telling others. Others are watching.
