June 30, 2022
In this course, I learned so much about so many different careers in the healthcare industry. And
with the career investigation project, it helped me understand more in depth what I will need and
what is required to become a family nurse practitioner. In my career investigation project
discussion, I stated that I didn’t think family nurse practitioner was a career for me because I am
an introvert and I found myself having a little difficulty dealing with people. But I have been
thinking and praying about it. I feel that that is the career I want to pursue. I should cut myself
short. With God by my side, I can accomplish anything. With God, anything is possible.
One of my goals is to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, attend graduate
school, and become a Nurse Practitioner. I want to be able to accomplish that dream that I have
always had since I was a little girl, but because of the wrong decisions I made, my dreams and
goals were pushed back. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own
understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight" Proverbs
3:5-6 is my life verse from the Bible. I like this verse because it encourages me to always put my
plans in his hands and trust in his plans that he has for me. We can make plans, but we should
always put our plans to the side and let God guide us through his plans that are more perfect than
ours.
I believe that being a nurse practitioner would be a great career for me because, even though I
am shy, I am a very compassionate person that loves to help and care for people. I believe that is
the path God wants me to take, and I am going to follow it because I trust Him. This profession
would 100% support my life goals because it goes hand in hand with what I want to accomplish
in life. My life goals and the career I chose make perfect sense together. When you want
something, you go and get it. When you are passionate about something, you go and do
everything you need to do to get to your goal, and that is why I always say that I trust the Lord
with all my heart.
In five years from now, I see myself graduating from Liberty University with a bachelor’s degree
in health science. I see myself still married with my five wonderful children, enjoying the life
God will provide for us. Ten years from now, I see myself working as a nurse practitioner. Within
the next 5 to 10 years, these are what I need to achieve my goal;
oAcquire my Bachelor’s Degree
oEnroll in a Master's Degree in Nursing
oAttend a Nurse Practitioner Program
oBecome a better servant of God.
oFollowing and trusting God more
Over the next 6 months, I will be focusing on studying and preparing myself for my career goal,
not only educational but spiritual. We can all learn something new every day from scripture.
"Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me-put it into practice. And
the God of peace will be with you. " Philippians 4:9
