How to improve – evaluate the motives for why you’re saying something or not saying
something. “Why should I say something?”
Obnoxious Aggression:
“When you criticize someone without taking even two seconds to show you care.”
How to improve – consider the impact your words on the relationship, look for the visible and
invisible consequences
Understand different personalities
Radical Candor:
Christ.
I appreciate and admire x,y,z about you, here is how you can continue to grow.
How to improve – specific compliments, point out how someone could grow and improve even
in the victories
Confront through Christ
Build trust over time so they don’t doubt you care when you offer radical candor
Focus on behavior rather than motivation
Keep concise, 2-3 minutes (really just keep it short), going too long can breed discomfort
Follow through with care and compassion, show you care and want to maintain trust
Professional: Will help you have godly and honest communication with subordinates, peers, and
supervisors.
Theological: It recognizes the value of an individual and cares to development of one another
Cultural: Culture shifts and change begins withs healthy dialogue.
