As a Christian, we are slowly seeing biblical principles are being stripped away from
government, as well as in the free market. We know that taxation is not a bad thing. It is said, in
the book of Luke, when the tax collectors came to be baptized and asked John, the Teacher what
they shall do. He said, “Collect no more than you are authorized to do (Luke 3:12-13).” In the
book of Romans, “we pay taxes because the authorities are servants from God, and we must
submit to the authorities because of possible punishment and conscience, they give their full time
to governing, so we must pay taxes if we owe taxes, if revenue then revenue, if respect then
respect, and if honor then honor” (Romans 13:5-6). These scriptures indicate that taxes are

system, completely goes against biblical principles in all respects. To support this statement, I
have included biblical references where it is stated that we are to help others who help
