Over time, things tend to change some change for good and others change for bad. One
important subject that I would like to discuss about its marriage and family, marriage and family
were a significant symbol of value and loyalty a long time ago, today both marriage and family
are not appreciated as they were before. People tend to take for granted their marriages, even
their own family. “You don't know what you got till you lose it” is a quote we hear all the time
but, we don't give it too much thought but it happens to be true. For example, when we are part
of something, lose something or someone is taken away from us, we learn that you should never
take for granted the blessings in our lives. It's not hard to see this concept has turned up into and
the mark it has made in our society. What is marriage? Marriage was created to make women
and men responsible with each other and their children. Family is another definition of what a
marriage becomes at the end, they're different words, but same meaning. “Marriage is a socially
arranged solution for the problem of getting people to stay together and care for children that the
mere desire for children, and the sex that makes children possible, does not solve.” quoted by
sociologist James Q. Wilson. It is said that a family is the best thing for the development of kids,
they do better on education achievement, delinquency and incarceration, familial and sexual
development most importantly it helps with their emotional health. Why is the Government in
the marriage business? Marriage has a public purpose that it plays in a Political Community, for
example highly dependent infants, there is no path to moral, physical and cultural maturity-no
path to personal responsibility- without a long and delicate process of ongoing care and
supervision. However, if they do mature, they'll never become upright, healthy, productive
members of society. The community often steps up to provide for their wellbeing and childhood.
The State strengthens Civil Society and reduces their own role, when they encourage
monogamy-marriage, permanence and sexual exclusivity. If we take the Government out of the
Civil Marriage business, it would be a catastrophe for the limited Government, getting rid of
civil marriage would weaken social support regarding their norms.
Not all marriages have always been accepted even till this day, the same-sex marriages
never been considered as a good thing but as an abomination. Our Biblical Worldview on this
particular argument doesn’t compare to or even up with our society because the Bible states that
marriage should only be between a man and a woman, “If a man lies with a male as with a
woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their
blood is upon them” (Leviticus,Chapter 20,verse 13). Same-sex marriages were not allowed in
every State until, June 26,2015 when The United States Supreme Court announced that
same-sex marriage are legal in all States because of the 14th amendment although, it was
Massachutes the first State to grant same-sex couples the right to be happy and be able to marry
each other on May 17,2004. One negative outcome was that while same-sex marriages became
legal the divorce rates went up the roof in other words it increased abruptly and most of those
divorces where from same-sex marriages, it looks like the country's biggest argument is the
legalization of same-sex marriages. Unfortunally, in the world there are people who believe what
the Bible states about same-sex marriages being an abomination, that is heart breaking for a few
because it’s not at all like that, we all deserve to be happy and be able to choose to be with
whom ever we love. There was a man who did not agree with the word of God’s word, his name
was Karl Marx. Karl Marx claims that he “adopted the idea of materialism”, because he
“dispense with the idea of God” (Martin,2006,page.163). Otherwise speaking, Marx came to
believe that God’s way was not giving results therefore mankind will have to take over and help
them, “One would not move in liner, straight-line fashion” (Martin,2006,pg.163), because, God
paved his words on how the way Christians should live and that’s when Marx said that people
move “In a sequence of forwards, backwards, forwards, backwards motion”
(Martin,2006,pg.163) this quote lets you know that Marx was against this carved path.
No matter what religion you practice at the end of the day we are all God’s children, we may
or may not acknowledge things that go against God’s word, in order to be accepted by society
and this can easily be the main reason why, most of the time we don’t appreciate and cherish
what we got especially our families like we used to before. I think process philosophy has turned
out to be more ungodly, and it doesn’t help the American Government achieve its goal of a better
future just how God intended. Love, responsibility, and liberty sometimes are taken away from
marriages and families, but I’m certain that not all families or marriages are the same therefore,
they all have different problems, different solutions and different outcomes. Yes, some couples
don’t get to fix their problems, but that’s not because of lack of effort or because it’s God’s fault,
sometimes they just can’t be fixed. God is our creator and he has the power to judge us for our
errors and actions but, when God created us he never intended for us to suffer, not love who we
want and not be loved in return. I don’t think we should believe everything that is on the Bible,
because I know that God doesn’t judge or critic those who like the same-sex, so, why should
others do it, God just wants us to be happy I bet he is very proud of the people who have the
courage to step up and speak up about who they are and how they decide to live their life “The
first step towards getting somewhere is to decide that you are not going to stay were you are”
(Unknown).
