Gospel Communication Application of CQ & Outline of God’s Story Paper
CQ Drive
I was motivated to share the gospel with my friend Alex because I felt the feeling inside of me to
share the word of God. I like to take any opportunity to share the gospel in hopes of helping that
person find who God is. Even though we are from different cultures, I felt like I saw an interest
from Alex when I first brought up the idea of sharing who God is. He didn’t use actual words,
but I saw his body language and the form of nonverbal communication that made me feel like he
was open to hearing me. My pastor also discussed the importance of going out and sharing the
word of God and always trying to reach others who are lost.
CQ Knowledge
I will start by remembering all of Alex’s cultural values. I will be mindful to not
come across as disrespectful of Alex’s current religion of Buddhism. I feel that if I was to come
across as disrespectful, that would push Alex away and possibly close the door. The Bible states,
“ But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone
who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and
respect, 1keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good
behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander (1 Peter 3:15-16).” Before I start with telling
God’s story, I will give my testimony and explain about how I became saved. I feel like Alex
and I will be able to connect more if he sees where I started and came from.
CG Strategy
My first strategy is to pray and ask for God’s guidance. I plan on going slow with each
story making it a point to not overwhelm him. My favorite story is hearing about how God
created the world. I am going to spend a lot of time on this story because I believe it’s one of the
3
most important. I plan on going with where God leads me and hopefully meet Alex where he is
at.
CG Action
I am going to speak in a calm tone. I plan on respecting his body language and physical
touch. I plan to have good eye contact with Alex and to show him I’m engaged. I will not
become frustrated or upset if he doubt’swhat I am saying. I know that God will want me to be
patient and kind.
Outline of Gods Story
The Pattern of the Kingdom: Genesis chapters 1 and 2
o Creation: God created heaven and earth. He filled the earth with light, people,
and other creatures. On the seventh day, God made that the day of rest. God
created Adam, and he took one of Adam’s ribs and made Eve. He made people to
fill the earth and rule over the other creatures.
The Perished Kingdom: Genesis chapter 2 and 3
o Adam and Eve lived in The Garden of Eden. This garden was filled with trees,
food, and a river. God gave Adam and Eve one rule and that rule was to not eat
from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. He instructed them that if they did
this, they would die. One day, Eve was walking in the garden and she saw the tree
of knowledge. There was a serpent there and he tempted her into eating fruit from
the tree. Eve took the bite from the apple and then shared it with Adam. They
then opened their eyes and saw that they were naked and were ashamed. God
called out for them and they hid. They then came out and God asked why they
were hiding. They responded to him that they were embarrassed by their
nakedness. God then asked how they knew they were naked, and they told God
about how they ate from the tree. Long story short, God banished them from the
garden for disobeying his command.
The Promised Kingdom:
o Covenant with Abraham:
God made Abraham the father of all nations. God instructed Abraham that he
must undergo circumcision as well as all of his descendants after him. In return,
Abraham and the generations after him would be blessed with land in Israel. If
one of the male descendants is not circumcised, then they would be cut off from
the land.
Genesis Chapter 17
o Covenant with David
God promised David that the Messiah would come from the line of David. God
promises David that he will provide David and his people with land in Israel
4
where they will live forever. God promises that David’s son will rule the
kingdom.
2 Samuel 7:8-13
The Partial Kingdom:
o Israel
The Israelites were freed from the Egyptians by Moses. With God’s will and
guidance, Moses led them through the red sea. God fulfilled his promise of land
for the Israelites.
Exodus 6:6-8
Exodus 2:23-25
Exodus 14
The Prophesied Kingdom:
o The message of the Prophets
God promised that he would create a new kingdom called Jerusalem. It will bring
people joy and delight. All of the old will be forgotten.
Isaiah 65:17-18
The Present Kingdom
o Virgin Birth
Jesus was born Mary. She was a virgin visited by an angel telling her that she
would give birth to the son of God. This was not done through her fiancée
Joseph, but the holy spirit.
Matthew 1:18-25
Isaiah 7:14
Luke 1:26-38
o Incarnation and Deity (fully God-fully man)
God sent himself to us through his son Jesus Christ. Jesus walked and talked to
people about getting saved from sin. We have God’s forgiveness because of
Jesus.
1John 1:1-10
John 1:18
o Jesus’ Life (person and ministry)
Jesus was born from the virgin Mary in Bethlehem. He spread the word and
ministered to thousands of people about the power of God. He healed those who
were sick and even dead. Jesus fed 5,000 people with only 5 loaves of bread and
2 fish.
John 11:43-44
Matthew 4:23-25
Matthew 14:13-21
Mark 10:27
Luke 18:27
o Jesus’ Death
Jesus was beaten and whipped. The soldiers mocking him put a crown of thorns
on his hand. Jesus was crucified on the cross with one nail in each and one in his
feet. Jesus then cried out to God asking why he had forsaken him. The soldiers
5
and onlookers began mocking him and asking why he can’t get himself down if
he’s the son of God. Jesus asked God to forgive them. He then died. When he
died, tombs opened, and the dead were raised to heaven. The curtain in the
temple was torn. There were earthquakes.
Matthew 27: 32-52
Mark 15:21-39
Luke 23: 44-49
Resurrection
o Ascension.
Jesus took the disciples up to Bethany where he blessed them. The disciples then
returned to Jerusalem being with joy and excitement. They then continued
worshiping and praising God.
Luke 24:50
The Proclaimed Kingdom
o The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is who leads us to Christ. The Pentecost was a day where a crowd
of Christians were filled with the Holy Spirit. They then began speaking in
tongues and were spreading the new about God.
Acts 2:1-13
o The Church
The church is the place for the fellowship of the believers in Christ. This is where
they are able to praise God. Because of the church, God is able to add to those
being saved.
Matthew 18:20
Acts 2:42-47
The Perfected Kingdom
o Christ’s Returns: We do not know when Christ is going to be coming back. We
do know that believers will be able to see him in the clouds and he will take us
with him to heaven.
Matthew 24:27
Revelation 1:7
Matthew 25:13
Revelation 22:12
o Our Response to the Gospel
