Course-Section:
Students can only submit this assignment if they were in class 10/8/2020. If students were not in
a class, they need to contact the professor/GSA for a make-up lesson. Students will answer the
following questions based on the Cultural Lecture class activity.
1. List 5 cultural rules/practices that you observed in the classroom during the Cultural
Lecture. (2pts each = 10pts)
a. I did not have my phone
b. I did not have my computers.
c. I was writing on a paper
d. I wrote what I saw on the screen.
e. Putting my pencil down once I have written
2. Analyze how you responded during the cultural lecture experience and what you learned
about yourself through this experience (200 words/20 points).
The lecture was very engaging, and I was able to learn many things relating to cultural
intelligence. I was able to effectively understand different aspects to consider when interacting in
a culturally diverse setting. Having different cultures does not limit our interactions. Still, it
presents an opportunity to learn from each other to build a robust intercultural relationship that
helps promote better approaches to societal development. These concepts have been effectively
emphasized in the lecture and will form my basis when interacting with individuals from a
different culture. Culture includes the origin of any relationship. Being culturally diverse
involves understanding the needs of others while appreciating their unique culture. An individual
with a high drive is very confident and can freely interact with individuals from different cultures
because they understand their worth regardless of their cultural background. No culture is
inferior to another through diversity. Adopting a culturally diverse society presents new
challenges that need to be solved amicably while respecting each other. Building a positive
change within any organization begins with cultural alignment considering that it is a
fundamental factor that links together with other components. I have also learned from the
course that the existing cultural elements define interactions among individuals, especially in a
setting where cultural diversity is not implemented.

3. Discuss what you learned about or how you utilized each of the four CQ Dimensions –
Drive, Knowledge, Strategy, and Action during the Cultural Lecture (20pts).
Drive (150 words/5 points):
I have learned that drive is integral to cross-culture. It is the level of interest, commitment,
and energy to embrace cross culturalism. They are building a strong personal
understanding of the existing differences within the society, focus on building change, and
allow for affective commitment and embrace a different culture. The ability to be
personally involved and committed to overcoming cultural challenges presents one of the
most critical factors that help shape change. Individuals need the motivation to learn about
cultural differences. Thus, initiating this level of focus gives a robust platform where there
is a need to understand the existing differences for more robust integration of improved
changes in engagement's personal and societal status. Self-confidence is a crucial factor
that explains drive in a cross-culture setting. These components present a belter
consideration on specific elements that help transform change and strengthen the
underlying cultural concepts. Individuals with high drive are more likely to adapt to cross-
culture as wellbeing confident about their wellbeing.
Knowledge (150 words/5 points):
Knowledge is explained during the lecture is fundamental to understanding the existing
issues within society. Overcoming any differences requires adopting specific processes that
help identify change and allow for successful integration and management of the current
needs. Thus, as explained in the lecture, knowledge is defined as a leader's understanding
of culture and its role in describing how business is context. It also includes seeking
clarification of how cultures vary from one another. Therefore, knowledge is integral to
understanding cross-culture. Without a clear understanding of the existing cultural
differences, it is challenging to build a robust platform that helps define change and
underlying elements that need to be effectively defined and improve efficacy. CQ
knowledge is crucial in understanding cultural reference and building change based on
cultural issues identified. Having positive interaction across different cultural settings
presents a better consideration of the management of the existing relationship. Cultural
knowledge defines the relationships that are formed among individuals who share culture
through a transformative context.
Strategy (100 words/5 points):
Strategy preset a vital context where it is possible to understand different measures that
build change and better processes to accept different individual experiences. Thus, as
explained in the lecture, I have understood that CK strategy is diverse and helps
understand cross-culture and understand a better plan that can be effectively developed to
promote change and adoption of better processes. Cultural differences can be effectively
controlled through the adoption of a better CK strategy. Therefore, leaders are expected to
identify discrepancies and plan effective counter processes that can be included within the
system, which involve a better code of interaction and relationship between different

stakeholders. The ability to correct these challenges in society accurately and embrace the
cross-culture.
Action (100 words/5 points):
CQ action presents a focus on verbal and nonverbal actions which are assessed across
different cultural setting. Therefore, a leader is expected to focus on implementing a
profitable strategy to the extent to which cultural differences negatively influence the
relationship among individuals. I have also learned that even though CQ action, in general,
refers to learning new measures that promote societal development. It helps us
understand when to decide to adapt to another culture. Thus, knowing when to adapt
change presents a highly efficient system where it is integral to build hanged and
understanding of CQ action. These concepts have shaped my understanding of cultural
intelligence and the ability to be cautious.
The reflection must be submitted on Canvas by 11:59 pm on October 7.
