1. Give a brief description of the event or the situation along with the historical/political
backgrounds contributing to this event.
Ukraine and Russia have been in a war of constant exchange of missiles and attacks since
February 2022. “The United States is expected to deliver $425 million in new military aid to
Ukraine for its fight against Russia, including about $300 million in long-term funding to buy
laser-guided munitions designed to take out drones, U.S. officials said Thursday.” Our country
government is sending money to help aid the cost of cold weather gear and weapons like High
Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems and National Advanced Surface to Air Missile Systems. The
Unites States are allied with Ukraine and are adamant on sending aid relief, just as they have or
plan to with Israels war against Hamas, efforts to counter China, and additional security at the
Mexico border.

This article and/or event about the United Sates sending money to Ukraine to aid in the war
against Russia interests me because it highlights the geopolitical dynamics and tensions between
major world powers. It is a real life example of how countries navigate complex international
relationships. Second, it shed light on the aid aspect of the conflict, as the aid money can have a
direct impact on the way the war goes due to weapons and strategies that can be used.
Additionally, this article and event provides insight into the strategies by the United States to
support our allies and maintain global stability. In the end this topic encompasses all aspects of
politics, international relations and allies, and the effects of global affairs.

ramifications of the event.
Locally, Ukraine is benefitted by receiving aid to help in their war against Russia. Ukraine
benefits from the aid money sent by the United States in several ways. The aid helps support
Ukraine’s economy, infrastructure and social programs. First, the aid helps Ukraine strengthen
it’s military capabilities, providing them with necessary equipment, training and support to
defend their sovereignty. This assistance can help deter further aggression from Russia and
protect Ukrainian citizen. Second, the aid demonstrates international integrity, which can boost
morals and diplomatic efforts. Last, the aid can contribute to the overall stability of the region, as
a strong and secure Ukraine helps maintain peace and security in Eastern Europe.

When the United States sends money to aid Ukraine in it’s conflict wit Russia, there are several
global implications. First, it shows the United States’ commitment to supporting its allies and
defending international norms of sovereignty and territorial integrity. This can have an effect on
other countries that may consider aggression. Second, it can strain any relationship or aggression
between the United States and Russia, potentially leading to increased tensions and geopolitical
rivalries. Additionally, it sends a message to other countries that the international communities
stand against aggression and supports those facing security challenges. Last, it may influence the
dynamics of other conflicts around the world, as countries assess the level of support they can
expect the United States and its’ allies. The spiritual ramifications are open to individual
interpretation, a view of support in conflict or a lens of violence.
