"My life seemed normal until."
I was a person who always thought my life was normal until I started school and friends
were living in the home of both parents. I never could understand why my father, the man who
had birthed me, would abandon me. I was five years old when my father walked out of my life. I
felt so much hurt and loneliness, and I could not understand what I did wrong for him to leave
me. I thought I was not what he wanted, and I did not look at how he wanted me to be or what it
could be. I felt abandoned, hurt, and disappointed, and there was no one to show me what love is
from a father's standpoint. My life was not normal because, in my teenage years, I was still
seeking answers as to why. I started looking for love in all the wrong men. I wanted to be loved;
my mother loved me, but I did not feel loved between the ages of 15 and 18. She made me feel
unwanted and unloved, regretted she had me, and took her anger on her ex-husband out on me.
“I discovered hope and help in Jesus when”
I discovered I needed Jesus at a young age. One day, I went to the club with my cousins
and usually had a drink. I turned down a drink that night because something was in the back of
my mind telling me not to do it. There was a shooting taking place inside the club; we all ducked
and dodged until we were able to be freed. Once freed from the club, we jumped into my car, and
I began to speed down the highway because we did not know where the active shooter was
located. A state trooper pulled me over and treated me like I was drunk. I was running for my life
to get to safety. I told the Lord that if you get me out of this, I will not return to another club and
will rededicate my life back to you. The whole time, I was praying because my license had
expired, and I had to take a breathalyzer, not knowing the outcome. I knew I did not want to be a
part of the world. There is so much joy in having Jesus. The Lord allowed me to walk away, did
not go to jail for an expired license, did not receive a ticket, and my car did not get impounded.

Nobody did that, but God stepped in right on time. That is when I knew I needed Jesus to come
to my rescue, and I did not look back to the things of the world.
“I am glad I have a personal relationship with Jesus today because”
I am glad to have a personal relationship with Christ because he has been so good to me,
and I do not know how my life would have ended without him being a part of it. He brought me
from a dark place in life; he is my protector; I can count on him to get me through tough
situations. I can talk to him any time of the day, and I know he will never leave me or, forsake,
me. Having a personal relationship is a certainty for having perfect peace. The more I spend time
with him, the more I grow in my faith spiritually, mentally, and physically.
“How can something like this happen to you?”
You can have the best personal relationship with Jesus. In this life, Jesus Christ wants us
all to develop our relationship where we hear the voice of God and communicate with Him. Just
as you would try to establish a connection with someone new by communicating with them, the
relationship can be built through praying to God. As one of his children, we can ask Christ to
lead and guide us as we begin to pray. You can go to him about your struggles, worries, feelings,
good and bad days, or whatever you are faced with. When you begin a personal relationship with
Christ, you may feel thankful, happy, and peaceful. This impressible enhances your relationships
with other individuals because you will stop needing them for anything. Whether or not they
behave delightfully regarding you, you will be okay because you will get what you need from
Christ. Again, the world cannot love or bless you as Jesus can!
