Evan 101- B02
Gods Story
In the beginning God created everything and said it was good. But on the sixth day God
created all living things in his image that include animals and the first humans, Adam and Eve.
God blessed Adam and Eve and told them to be “fruitful and multiply” and gave them authority
over everything. Genesis 2:15-17 NIV states, “Then the LORD God took the man and put him in
the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “Of every
tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not
eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” But because they rebelled against God and
ate from the forbidden fruit, sin and death entered their lives causing a broken world. But God
promises a savior that will save them from the wages of hell and will receive everlasting life with
him in heaven.
God kept his promise and sent his only son Jesus Christ to die on the cross and shed his blood
for all of his children out of love so that we could be redeemed. Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV, “For it is by
grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God
— not by works, so that no one can boast.” The only way to share eternal life with God is to
repent of your sins and ask Jesus to come into your heart but also believing that Jesus is the king
above of all kings and obeying the word of God. We cannot enter the gates of heaven by simply
doing good in our life or depend on works to gain us eternal life, it is only through Jesus and
Jesus alone. After Jesus died on the cross, he rose three days later. Through his resurrection,
Jesus conquered death and gave us the choice of eternal life with him.
