Introduction

will go into discussion on sexuality and the loss of the moral compass in today’s society. I will

give strong points that show the decline of values, due to social media and the Bible is pushed

out of everything today. We are in a world, that no longer censors the things from our youth that

even as a child I never seen growing up. With each generation, the censorship is less and less,

you see it in the sexual content of the music and on the television. More things are acceptable

and just viewed as normal that at one time was not. Same sex marriage is common and legal in

most states, sexual context shown on regular television. Pre-marital sex and being promiscuous

is normal for teens and abortion is at an all-time high. It is even known that the Bible has put this

in motion and all of these immoral things are to come before he comes back and takes his

believers home. The Bible is a history book that lays out things that have happened and things

choose this because it is what I believe and teach my children. Divine Command theory defined

whether or not my actions are in line with the divine command. The Bible is the foundation for

what is good and bad. Men chosen by God and his words wrote the Bible. “All things work

together for the good, for those who are called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28-29) we

all have a purpose and we all should live by this book and these rules. What God commands is

what is true and valued in my beliefs. I will discuss sexuality in today’s society with Divine

Command Theory as our centerpiece. By using Divine Command Theory, there is a promise of

eternal life and peace. The benefits outweigh the negatives in this theory. Using Revelation

Christian Ethic teaches you to help others and care for more than just yourself. This theory is one

that basis its command on love. “Jesus declared, "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart

do not believe in God so these rules do not apply to them. If these rules do not apply then where

do your rules come from? Do you not have morals and some rather values that are a standard.

Using Christian Ethic, any question about sexuality will be answered in the Bible. The biggest

issue I believe is that our children are facing is the loss of morals and the Bible. We see less

censorship and more acceptance of things that have not been tolerated previously. We now have

gay marriage legalized in some states. I believe in a union of sorts, but I would never call it a

marriage. The Bible clearly states marriage is between a women and a man. Same sex marriage,

all people have been created in Gods image. We are all a loved spirit daughter and son of a

heavenly father and we each have a divine destiny. A characteristic of Godhood is parenthood

and this can only happen when the marriage is between woman and man. I can argue this by

saying that two men cannot procreate and neither can two women, it is not the natural way of

life. If you do the research and want to stand on the scientific and not biblical stance, even then

a clear stance on premarital sex and that we should restrain from this action. I would also argue

that there are many other benefits from waiting until you are married to have sex. You will not

have as many abortions, or sexually transmitted diseases, if people waited to have sex until they

were married. When a couple has premarital sex, they are breaking a promise they have made

the Bible clearly tells us specifically about these things. “I am afraid that when I come again my

God will humble me before you, and I will be grieved over many who have sinned earlier and

have not repented of the impurity, sexual sin and debauchery in which they have indulged.(2

Corinthians 12:21)NIV God knows all, he knows there would come a day when people would

stray from the Bible. God knew there would be a world of non-believers; he even knew we as

Christians would have to be persecuted and ridiculed just to keep Divine Command as our guide.

“Who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of

our God and Father,” (Galatians 1:4)NIV “Researchers found 81 percent of Americans agree

with the statement, “I am concerned about declining moral behavior in our nation.” Nineteen

percent disagree.” People can see this is an issue, the biggest issue is our world is so diverse and

there are so many different beliefs. Even with the different beliefs we can at least agree, there

should be some sort of moral compass we can all hold as a standard. I say the Bible is where we

should turn to; it only teaches love and acceptance of others.

Conclusion

God is good in all that he commands, and everything he wills to happen has a purpose under

the heavens. We are all here for a purpose. We are here in this world to influence others, for the

good of humanity and for the grace and love through God. We have a book that gives us

command theory, you can know that no matter what God wills to happen, it will always be

morally correct. There is no reason not follow the bible it has always lead me to make the best

decisions. The Bible is a guide for anything you have questions in regards to. The Bible is clear

on same sex marriage it says that marriage is between a woman and a man. The Bible is clear on

all sexuality questions you may come across. Pre-marital sex is not looked well upon in the

Bible. The Bible says “Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin

is lawlessness.”(1 John 3:4)ESV We all sin, but it says those of us who do not try to change our

ways are doing wrong. God knows we are all sinners, he knew we would fall short, but we

should try to repent and change our ways. I say this to argue the point that people may say we are

not perfect and all sin. The fact that we are all sinners is no question, but do we have to live in

this sin and not change our ways? No when we choose to continue to have premarital sex and

live in a life that is sinful, we are making the choice then. God does not expect us to be without

sin, he knew we would be sinful when Eve at from the tree she was told not to eat from. God has

so much grace and unconditional love he gives us chance after chance to change our ways and

live in a righteous way. “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your

own doing; it is the gift of God,(Ephesians 2:8)ESV “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and

just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.(1 John 1:9)ESV At the end

sex marriages, if we are sinning and being promiscuous, or watching or engaging in sexual

things we should not. Divine Command is not to judge the world; it is to give them a standard to

live by and a guide to a better life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
