Introduction
The colonial period of the United States of America was the most crucial, and it was found to be
significant for the poets and authors. Many of the authors wrote about the hardships of the victims of the
colonial period. It is seen that many authors wrote about romantic works and patriotism. Among many
authors, William Bradford is one of the famous and well-known authors in the colonial expression. The
author showed that the colonial period was full of hardships and difficulties. The work by the author that
has to be discussed in the following document is “Bradford's History of Plimoth Plantation.” The
author’s work is based on the hardships of the colonial period, but the people remained strong and
stayed consistent.
The theme of the author/work
Bradford's History of Plimoth Plantation is one of the most famous and well-known books of
history, and it has shown to be a masterpiece of his works. He raised the bar of the literary work of the
colonial period by narrating the significance of the hard work of people. The theme of the work is to
discuss the hardships and difficulties of the colonial era. Plymouth colony was the book's main focus,
and the author started the work through religious works. It is seen in the book that the religious works
and reforms were the need of the hour. It was the period when Christianity principles were not
