Everyone has their interpretation of the word love. This makes it a challenging word to
define. People receive love differently; they show their love differently. When I think of love, I
think of Intimacy, devotion, care, kindness, compassion, romance, worship, passion, friendship,
and patience. Which are all, oddly enough, synonyms of the word love. When two people marry,
they vow to love their partner in sickness and health, for better or worse. In addition, a person
chooses to be the best spouse they can be for their partner. For example, once a week, my
husband gets home from work, grabs my keys and my car, and goes to fill my gas tank. He does
this because, even though he hates going to the gas station, he knows I hate it more. This is just
one of the many ways his actions show that he loves me. Love is also a choice or choices that a
person makes to better another's health and happiness. For example, parents putting their
children’s needs and wellbeing before their own. Love to me is unconditional; I do not think
there is anything that my children can do that could make my love dissipate. Lastly, One can
classify love in many ways—one's ability to love properly. Examples include Action, word
expression, physical touch, and quality time.
