Purpose Statement
The purpose of this study is to provide recommendations to improve science achievement at Co-
operative Arts and Humanities High School in New Haven, Connecticut.Problem Statement The
problem is that, due to frequent turnover in science teachers over the past several years, student
performance in science courses at Cooperative Arts and Humanities High School has declined
(New Haven Public Schools, 2025).
