Findings
Research Question
The research question for this study was:
RQI: Is there a significant relationship between instructor ratings and course ratings?
Null Hypothesis
The null hypothesis for the study is:
H01: There is no significant relationship between instructor ratings and course ratings.
Descriptive Statistics
Data obtained for the dependent variable relationships between instructor ratings and
course ratings can be found in Table 1.

Results
Data Screening
A data screening was done for both overall quality as an instructor and overall course
ratings to determine if there were any outliers. The researcher conducted a scatter plot to detect

any outliers on both variables for both pre and post treatment. There were no inconsistences and
outliers identified. See Figure 1 for the scatter plot.

Assumptions
A PEARSON CORRELATION was used to assess the null hypothesis that looked at
whether there is a significant relationship between overall quality as an instructor and overall
course quality. The PEARSON CORRELATION requires an assumption of linearity and
assumption of bivariate normal distribution to be acceptable. There was an assumption of
linearity that was observed through a scatter plot with an added line of fit. There were no
violations or inconsistences found and the assumption of linearity has been met. Furthermore, the
assumption of bivariate normal distribution was observed through a scatter plot. The scatter plot
displayed a classic “cigar shape” which indicates that there were no violations found. See figures
2 and 3 for scatter plots.

Results for Null Hypothesis One
A PEARSON CORRELATION was conducted to examine the relationship between
quality as an instructor and course quality. The relationship between the quality as an instructor
and course quality was significant, r (48) = .64, p < .001, at a 95% confidence interval. The null
hypothesis was rejected. The results indicate that there is a positive significant relationship
between quality as an instructor and course quality. See Table 2
