Importance of Planning
Planning is described as the deliberate, collaborative, continuous process of determining
and providing the most effective way to implement change (Jenkins, 2019). Planning for
curriculum change should include stakeholders and focus on the standards, objectives, goals, and
evidence based instructional practices. These goals and objectives should be clearly explained
and understood, as well as agreed upon by stakeholders in order for the curriculum change plan
to be implemented effectively and consistently (Gordon et al., 2019). Planning is the initial stage
of curriculum development and implementation.
Curriculum change and implementation can be an effective way to address educational
problems or issue as long as it is based on data (Supriani et al., 2022). Planning is important to
effective curriculum implementation because it addresses specific needs determined by
stakeholders. It allows the stakeholders to develop ways to create and organize goals and
activities that ultimately impact student academic success. Planning is important because it sets
the focus and vision for the proposed change. The planning of these key components allows for
stakeholders to maintain focus throughout the change process. Each step of the change process
should be planned and monitored to determine its effectiveness. Effective planning leads to
innovation and facilitates student learning (Yo, 2020). Ultimately, planning is the result of a
school’s dreamed and conceived ideal for the students on their campus put forth in distinct
objectives and steps in order to meet those goals (Pessoa et al., 2020). Biblically, planning is
