ACTION PLAN
Knights High School is currently working through a five-year strategic plan in
collaboration with the staff, students, parents, and community stakeholders to help identify by a
consensus on what areas of concern currently exist in addition to changes the group would like to
see in order to further develop career and college readiness skills for the students also allowing
them be productive contributing members to the diverse global worlds each will enter. Over the
last five years, Knights High School has brought on a new administration team, which is making
significant efforts to work in partnership with the staff, parents, and community on these goals;
however, residual effects from prior leadership have left some, unfortunately, lingering
aftereffects often slowing the process down. Each lens highlights potential problem areas and
identifies where action steps need to occur within the organization.
Structural Intervention
Knights High School has an organizational hierarchy that is often understood but, to
some staff members, has yet to be told. The problem at Knights High School is that, at times, and
this often can be seen at the parent level, is the need for clarification as to where the starting
point is for a problem should begin. For example, suppose a parent has a question about school
choice or ROTC. In that case, the parent will often go to the website, locate administrators, and
identify Mr. D'Errico as the first vice principal, as the list is alphabetical. As these phone calls
come in for matters such as this, the find their way to the wrong administrator and get y
