Politics in today’s society has its place, but it is not in a good place for all people.
Schools in general all have a way of dealing with politics. Most schools will not admit to the
fact that they have politics in school and that the political issues that go on in the World does
effect the decisions the schools will make for the future. Some schools also have politics that are
intertwined into schools through parents, teachers, and stake holders. Douglasville School has
plenty of politics that has a grip on the school and the students. Politics has a way of just making
things better and making things worse when it comes to schools. Douglasville is a school that
somehow another allows too much of politics to come in and change things not necessarily for
the better of the students, but for the better of the leaders.
The power of the political monster lies in the administrator’s hand. The administrator has
the authority to run the school however he pleases as long as he follows the rules and regulations
of the State of Georgia. The administrator of Douglasville School has the ability to have to push
the teachers to follow his lead and to cause the teachers to understand and move towards the
plans that have been laid out by the administrator. The political plans that are set up will be
followed by all teachers and students. The administrator does not act as a dictator, but he is able
to rule with compassion and grace to get what he needs done at Douglasville School. The
teachers are seen as the experts of the school. The administrator allows the teachers and the
leadership team to be involved and to help to make decisions that will affect how things will be
ran around the school. Most of the teachers are seasoned and they are used to doing the job that
is required of them without much interference from an administrator.
