Eastern Florida State College is in Brevard County, Florida. The college has four
physical campuses and an online campus. 20,000 students annually enroll and take courses on
the campus of their choice. The college offers accessible higher education with convenient
access to campuses. EFSC’s mission “is committed to engaging our diverse population in
quality, accessible learning opportunities that successfully meet individual and community
needs.” ( , n.d.). Post COVID-19, the Eastern Florida State College | Our History & Mission
college returned to normal operations in July 2021 and began centralizing units in August 2021.
The problem identified for this assignment is the sudden centralization of many Eastern Florida
State College units without prior notification to the personnel or students that would be affected
by the decision. This analysis will address the problem and provide multi-dimensional action
plans to solve the problem. Resolving the abrupt college-wide restructure from decentralization
to centralization will require an assessment of the outcomes of centralization at the end of the
2023 academic year.
EFSC’s Executive Leadership’s inconsideration of all stakeholders created confusion.
