RESPONSIBILITY
Fairness, Justice, Equity
Augustine's inspiration allowed him to figure out different
strategies to improve the students' lack of motivation and
interest in learning. His faith was his purpose, and he was
passionate about teaching students, which he could help
lead them to find God through the teachings of the Bible.
Augustine believed that teachers should not assume
students understood the assignments, but it was the
responsibility of the educators to have clear, simple, and
direct instructions to follow (Smith, 2020).
The educational system provides a classroom setting for
students to thrive effectively, and educators can
implement a calm and pleasant learning environment.
Educators must build a rapport with students that is
conducive to developing intelligent growth. Educators
should encourage and support students without harmful
acts of shame against them. All learners should have
access to education, regardless of socioeconomic status
or background (Smith,2020).
COMMITMENT
Work Ethic,
Committed to the Field
of Education
Margaret Douglass participated in the reform movement
with other women who believed in equality and equal
rights of women and children, regardless of race, creed,
educational level, income, disability, or criminal history.
She was passionate about teaching Blacks who were free
how to read. She stayed committed and persistent in her
teachings to Blacks who wanted to be literate. She
volunteered her time and years of dedication and
commitment to educate countless freed Blacks through
her school. Douglas contribution to education was an
exemplary example of commitment to helping others,
especially children with reading, even if she risked
imprisonment for herself (Madu,2025).
As of today, it is essential to maintain and display work
ethics as an educator by showing up and supporting your
students with positive words of affirmation. Being on
time for work and prepared to teach each class with
passion, consistency, honesty, accuracy, and dedication to
assist with academic achievement success. Educators are
in positions to influences students on different levels of
their lives. They can impact students with mentorship,
words of wisdom, or one on one guidance, if needed.
Educators are placed in this position as a role model by
the society, whether we wanted it. To set the standard, is
imperative for students to witness the possibility of their
future.
REFLECTION
Critical Analysis,
Reform, Progress,
Data-based Decisions
W.E.B. Du Bois was one of the many great
philosophers of education. He contributed a wealth
of knowledgeable information about the adverse
racial impact among African American communities
and other races (SEOP,2023). He protested for equal
rights among Blacks and for all citizens to be treated
The NAACP was reformed to improve equal rights for
people of all races. All citizens deserve the treatment of
equal rights and the pursuit of happiness. This reform
gave countless people hope for better education, job
opportunities, higher wages, and improved working
conditions. There are laws in place currently that need to
be revised according to the policies to improve people’s
fairly by participating in many protests. He dedicated
his life to educating and improving equal rights
lives in general from day-to-day circumstances
(Smith,2020). Educators are present as front-line workers
who can witness and experience issues within the

among African Americans by establishing the NAACP
(National Association for the Advancement of
Colored People) (Black History Month, 2025). Du Bois
was one of the founders who participated in the civil
rights movement along with Booker T. Washington
and other civil rights activists (Smith,2020).
classroom regarding students. All students deserve the
right to be treated fairly, along with the proper access to
education. Teachers can advocate for better policies to be
changed for the betterment of a more conductive learning
environment. Educators deserve better working
conditions, smaller class size and higher salaries for their
endless amount hours of commitment to education.
INTEGRITY
Ethical Leadership
John Locke was an intelligent philosopher from Britain,
expressed his perspectives on how people’s thoughts
were developed. Through life experiences, a person can
experience complex and straightforward thoughts
developed through living life with integrity (SEOP,2023).
He believed that all thoughts were formed from a blank
sheet of paper, which was later formed into an idea
through experiences in life. Locke was better known as
the great thinker who influenced others to consider the
connection of knowledge to the ultimate decisions made
by God, with the bases of moral and integrity within each
person (Smith,2020).
Educators are placed in leadership roles because of their
skills and passion for helping students. While working in
leadership, they display moral character and integrity
which is imperative for others to witness. Students
observe educators’ that are passionate about teaching
and giving solid advice. Countless educators assist
students in evolving into leaders by creating great
thinkers with amazing ideas. It is the responsibility of
educators to demonstrate compassion, guidance, morals,
ethics, and leadership skills to others. Educators need to
build trust within their students, so therefore instilling a
sense of value with each person.
PROFESSIONALISM
Effective Problem
Solving
Samuel Chapman Armstrong believed black students
needed structured training rather than the traditional
curriculum of the standard university learning
environment. By this exposure, the vocational black male
students could advance through the training with
knowledge of various skills such as carpentry, blacksmith,
and masonry. Armstrong helped create an environment
for people of color who otherwise would not have had
the opportunity to attend a higher education institution
to learn several different skills (EBSCO,n.d). His inspiration
for the betterment of education for blacks, along with
institutions meeting the needs of the people
(Smith,2020)
Teachers need to establish classroom rules, regulations,
and expectations at the beginning of the school year. It is
essential to inform students and parents about upcoming
assignments and events to ensure that all parties involved
know their responsibilities. Teachers can display
professionalism by respecting the students,
communicating with colleagues, and parents, being
punctual and reliable. Always speak and share positive
affirmations with others to uplift them.
