Introduction
The work of the Christian educator brings with the great responsibility and privilege
fulfilling our calling with all professionalism and excellence while being faithful to apply God’s
counsel in each area of our duties. One pillar of excellence the work of education is that of
effective evaluation which, in fact, has a foundation in biblical principles. Beginning with the
creation account, we find God evaluating his work each day, declaring it good (Genesis 1, New
King James Version). In fact, this characteristic part of God’s very character, often referred to as
justice. In Exodus, God’s loving and merciful character is presented in harmony with this
unbending justice (Exodus 34:6). He desired this same justice to be reflected and exemplified in
the character and actions of his people who were to execute justice in all their dealing with their
fellow human beings (Leviticus 19:15, 36). In God’s eyes, good things are not beneath
measurement and even loving actions are accountable to a high standard. These biblical
