Professional Development Plan
This professional development training or PD training will focus on “Storyboard That”. This is a
technological application that can be used in classrooms of educators to help give a better
experience. This training will be offered for all the K-5 teachers for the elementary schools
within the surrounding districts. Instructors with experience using “Storyboard That” will be
leading the training to give a more personal experience. This training will last about three hours.
There will be a lunch break in between sessions. Lunch will be catered for to allow more
flexibility for individuals to get the most from the experience and not have to leave to find
something to eat. Instructors will use an interactive SMART board when showing examples.
Individuals will be asked to bring their own laptop, or tablet to follow along and create their
accounts. Wi-fi access will be given along with the link to be able to print out instructions to help
when needed.

Day # 1 Setup and fundamentals
Learning
Objectives
Objective 1: Teachers in attendance of the training will have a Storyboard That
account that is fully functioning to use in their classroom by the end of the
training.
Objective 2: Teachers in attendance will obtain knowledge to use their Storyboard
Account and be able to assign their students work accordingly.
Instruction
Teachers will only need their teaching degree to be in attendance. Prior knowledge
of computers and internet access is a plus but not mandatory.

Practice
(Approximately 30 minutes) The instructor will open the training with a
discussion about technology and the benefits in the classroom. They will open this
as a discussion topic amongst the attendees and allow them to share the concerns
they may have. This will allow the instructor to know and content they need to
cover during the training to help those in attendance feel more comfortable.
(Approximately 45 minutes) The instructor will move to an introductory video to
introduce Storyboard That. After the video the instructor will briefly discuss other
aspects of Storyboard That. Anything they have seen to be beneficial in their own
classroom and why they feel so strongly in support of this technology.
(Approximately 1 hour) The instructor will show the attendees how to get to
Storyboard That. They will be walked through out to set up their account. This
will include student setup, google classroom, any usernames, and passwords and
how their students can use this as well. The instructor will also show examples on
how to make a storyboard and any assignments. They will also go into how to
view completed work.
Conclusion and Methods
for Additional Support
(Approximately 30 minutes) The instructor will choose a few storyboards from the
attendees and go over them in the classroom (with permission). This will offer
more examples to others as well as show the instructor if the information given
was portrayed in a way that the individual could understand and help create a
successful storyboard.
Evaluation
(Approximately 15 minutes) A survey regarding the training will be given to the
attendees to obtain their opinion of how the training was conducted and whether
the information given was accurate and relatable. This will help the trainer to
know what needs to be adjusted before the next training session.
