What technology do you use in your classroom? Why do you use these programs?
Google classroom along with all google extensions. I use them to give face to face and virtual students
classwork.
It also provides fast feedback to students.
Nearpod and Peardeck to engage students using an interactive presentation, google extensions to
assign assignments and to also assign formative
and summative assessments.
Edulastic-Formative/Summative Assessments, Screencastomatic-record videos to upload for students to
watch later of lessons,
Edpuzzle-interactive videos, Kahoot-lesson or activity engagement, Quizizz-Formative
assessments, Google forms-formative assessments,
Peardeck-interacitve slide shows for engagement
How do you know what technology to use when you want to instruct a skill?
I use google classroom to assign formative assessments. I use this to see
what
I need to teach next or reteach.
I use the same technology everyday.
My students are used to Nearpod and look forward to my Nearpod lessons.
I differentiate my lessons using the technology mainly on
google classroom
because I can assign specific students different stuff such as a word
bank in a way that the other students do not know that the student
is getting extra support.
I think about the process and product that I want my students to use in order
to show me that they understand the skill that I am teaching. Most of the
time the technology
that I use is for resources that the students can use to look at for examples.
Most of their practice is done hands on using paper and pencil.
I use the technology more for the product to get a quick assessment of what
they know to guide my instruction.
What program do you use to create a formative assessment?
Google Classroom to assign daily assignments.
Google forms and edulastic.
I use edulastic, google forms, and quizizz for my formative
assessments.
How do you choose a summative assessment tool?
I choose google forms because it provides fast feedback to
myself
and my students.
My summative assessments are on edulastic as they look a
lot like the GA milestones.
I choose a summative assessment tool that will mirror the GA
Milestone Assessment.
Edulastic is very useful because it uses the same question types
and different
depths of knowledge that the GMA also uses.
What benefits do you believe technology has when teaching your students?
Easily differentiate assignments to each students' needs, send remediation to individual
students based on formative and informative assessments, see virtual students through google meet,
and as I said earlier it provides easy feedback.
Student engagement, quick feedback, and students have more choice when using technology.
I think that some of the benefits are student engagement and also easy and fast feedback on
assignments
