Discussion Thread: Call to Reach
All EDUC 644
Educators who are believers, view life in a whole different meaning, as the title stated, Call to Reach All
is a challenge to make every effort possible to lead others to Christ. From the basic daily life aspects of
living, choices, decisions making to career goals, a believer add their religion into their life. As a Christian
educator who believes in Christ are privileged to serve with a greater purpose. By using the gift to reach
those who do not believe in Christ can be shown through work ability. The bible states that, “as each
has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace”(English
Standard Version Bible, 2001, 1 Peter. 4:10). As a good steward and Christian educator we have the
ability to reach those who need uplifting, strength, and wisdom to be empowered to view Christ as their
savior. A biblical Christian educator the responsibility of not only educating students based on their
academic goals, but understanding from a biblical perspective builds guidance and support. When
reflecting on the assignment related to alternative schools, lottery selections, private school and charter
school, being a Christian educator compels a believer to reach students through spiritual
encouragements and ways to communicate the love of Christ without being demanding. For example,
students who live in poverty, need Christian educators to bring, hope, love and an open mind that they
can learn. As stated by Moline, “Urban children need the opportunity to see Jesus every day through the
example of their teachers.
They need the chance to study His Word and know Christ as their personal Savior (2004-2005, p 1).”
With student in poverty, many problems arises. Student with low test scores, assessments, attendance
and more become a bully to others, skip school and many other problems arise that an Christian
educator can decrees some matters with a positive Christ-like approach. Understanding how as a
Christian education, your faith can reach students in diverse population as a person plays a role in
making factual decisions. Most importantly, helping students in diverse population understand Christ as
the first teacher is a way to introduce them with simple examples and understanding how the Bible is to
be implemented into teaching. The Call to Reach All is based on principles, Christian philosophy of
education, along with evidence on the understanding from an educator point of view.
