Introduction
A worldview is a word used to describe how we perceive the world around us. When it comes to a biblical
worldview, this view is based more on a framework of ideas and beliefs. This worldview is how the
individuals interpret the world that god created, and how they interact with it. The good thing about
worldviews is “Everyone has a worldview whether they realize it or not” (Dr. John MacArthur, May
2006). God says in the bible “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s
womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know
that full well” (Psalm 139:13-14, NIV). I love this verse because I can apply it to all aspects of my life.
And I feel that most individuals can as well. God put all in could into making us so our worldview
should try to resemble his. In this biblical worldview it’s solely based off everything that can be proven
by the word of God. On my journey as a Christian man, I intend to receive my degree majoring in
Secondary education in order to help the next generation of people.
Biblical Worldview
People around the world seem to believe that the Bible only addresses religious and spiritual
issues. When the truth of the matter is much simpler. The Bible has made a massive comeback in the
school systems, today it is used in schools all over the world. These schools use the Bible in many ways
from teaching history to science class. Today the rules are much more relaxed for teachers a lot of them
do not teach in Christian schools, they have the ability and right to share their views on their faith with
their students if they see fit. When is come to what we have learned in Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning
God created the Heavens and the Earth.” According to the Bible, in Genesis 1:27 “So God created
mankind in his own image he created them, male and female he created them”. Being Christians, being
god’s faithful followers, we should understand that the unconditional love that he for all his people is
EDUC 504
one of the main points we should replicate as his servants. In John 4:19 it states, “We love because he
first loved us.”
Having a strong must relationship with god and our faith one must also show that trust, respect,
and understanding is also upheld in the worldview of being a strong Christian. In Psalms 62:8 it says
“we must Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us.”
Being a teacher, one must trust in a strong worldview whether is based in a religion or not. Being a
teacher, we must trust that we are making the right choices and moves when it comes to our classrooms.
Ultimately, we as educators and faithful Christians, we need to lead our students to understand that deep,
fulfilling love only comes as a byproduct of a life. Which is centered on God and a strong believe in
him. A benefit of becoming a religious person is being able to experience life as a caring, graceful,
fairness, and forgiving human without looking for something in return. Most importantly this worldview
requires us to have treat everyone whether they share in our beliefs or not with dignity and respect. As a
Christian I would say that the base of the pyramid is formed by our worldview and faith about the nature
of our values, knowledge, and the world in general.
Christian Philosophy of Education
However, by diligently learning, applying and trusting God’s truths in every area of our
lives “Christian worldview that is solidly rooted and grounded in Scripture” (Dr. John MacArthur, May
2006). We can begin to develop a deep comprehensive faith that will stand the test of time and against
all the negative influences that the unrelenting tide of our culture’s nonbiblical ideas throws at us. Once
we capture and embrace more of God’s worldview and trust, developing our own unwavering faith in
him and Christ, then we begin to make the right decisions. At the end when we will have to meet our
creator one day, we will be judged on our decisions and actions that we believed in.
As I continue to further my education and reach my goal of becoming a successful physical
education teacher. I will provide myself with the best Christian worldview that I possibly can. Treating
everyone with the upmost respect, I will try to truly live the way god intended for us to, not saying I
EDUC 504
haven’t done it, but I am human, and I have made mistakes. In the end I want to be just like Jesus, how
he showed his unconditional love towards us his servants and the world. No matter the sin, if you ask
for forgiveness god will hear and if you truly want what you are asking for, he will answer in his own
way. As I stated earlier in my paper mankind is created in the image of God, so we must try to obtain a
worldview like his.
Implications for Educational Practice
I am wanting to become a physical education teacher this worldview will help me achieve my
goals because I will be in the service of others just like Jesus, One value that we must not forget is
“service” this is of the upmost important not only in this profession but to Christians as well. Jesus
himself was a servant of god, spreading the word and helping anyone who truly needed. Jesus our lord
and savor fed villages and washed people feet, he healed people but above all he died for our sin. Our
lord gave the ultimate form or servitude as a teacher we must try to follow his exceptional leadership.
One cannot discuss what a true worldview on servitude is I take it as you doing whatever you can for
others, I feel that specifics of what it could mean would just drown what being a good servant is when
one is first discussing a proper Christian worldview. With roots in religion, worldview must dictate
everything a person does and says. One must set themselves firm in their worldview and will/cannot be
separated from their worldview.
The hard part about the Biblical worldview is, if we don’t believe the truth of God and live like
it, then our witness will be misleading and confusing. As a people most of us go through life not
realizing that our personal worldviews have been deeply affected by the world and what we truly value
around us. The media, people, inner thoughts, and other influences all add up affects our thinking more
than we realize. So, once we are then are taken and captivated through god and his word and his holy
philosophy, after we recognized him as our lord and savior the worldview depends on us as human to
use our gift of free will to transition the basic principles of his words to our worldview. In the bible god
said, “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your
EDUC 504
mind” (Romans 12:2). This passage perfectly reflects how hour worldview should translate from a non-
Biblical on to a Biblical one.
Conclusion
In conclusion all that I’ve talked about, the natural world, the biggest views I feel like we need to
achieve a better biblical world view, our flaws as people, and the relationships we have with god, how
we treat other people relationships, our culture, and civilization. These all have a profound impact on us
as future educators and on us as humans. all change the way we look at the world. As a Christian if I
realize that every person on earth is sinful at heart that needs Jesus’ grace. Having “Christianity as the
dominant worldview in western society” (Kim, McCalman, & Fisher, 2011). Means that if I or any
human was to lose track or just how important our world view is there are multiple avenues for us to get
back on track. Being made in the Father’s image is a plus he who created all things makes me see that I
should treat all his creations with the upmost respect and love. There is no one that is better than another
because we all have sinned. We know what is wrong and right because God wrote his law on our hearts
and gave of free will but also gave us intuition and a conscience tom help choose right from wrong. I am
so thankful that I am saved and in my future career I will be able to pay the lord back even more.
Teacher the younger generations and helping them find god and a clear biblical worldview.
