How will you get the lesson started? What questions, texts, inquiry, modeling, and/or other techniques
will you use to engage students?
I will start by engaging the students with engaging trivia questions such as, “What three colors
represent the United States?” and “What day of the year do we dress in the colors and have cookouts?”
I will pass out whiteboards and the students will draw a picture of something they do on the 4th of July.
They will get an opportunity to share it with the class. Students will then watch Why we celebrate the
Fourth of July
