Insight Gained From this Project
This project was very informative, and I learned so much on how to choose books for my class.
I never realized before that you could use the “mirrors and windows” to choosing stories until
now. By choosing books based on diversity, you are choosing books that some students can
relate to, and other students can learn from. TheKcontributions approachKis certainly the easiest
way to incorporate culturallyKdiverseKliterature into your curriculum. Using this approach, you
select books that, for example, celebrate heroes and holidays from various cultures (Galda,
Liang, Cullinan, 2017).
