Discussion Board 1: ALL the children of the World
Jesus loves the little children… ALL the children of the World. This is a children’s song
that speaks volumes about the importance of our diversity and that “they’re all precious in His
sight”. Our textbook G.U.I.D.E (2012) starts with the G- Great Commission in which Ackerman
describes that God has taken special care to include ALL people into his plan. It has always been
my personal aspiration to encourage all children to grow and discover their full potential.
Sometimes this involves nurturing a special talent or overcoming any obstacles or disabilities.
When I see a child struggling or standing out against the normal flow, this is the student I am
drawn to help and give extra attention toward. That is how I discovered God’s purpose for my
giftedness. As a future special education teacher this principal that God does not make mistakes
and we are all created just as He meant is cornerstone to my driving purpose. In a righteous
community everyone is an important part of the whole community and this is something that can
be cultivated within our own classroom. I absolutely love the “epiphany” Dr. Beth Ackerman
describes when she discusses the alternate translation of Proverbs 22:6 in which God “bends”
each of us in our own way. Our individual nature is meant as a unique gift from God. This is
described in Psalms 139:14 which explains that not only are we unique and “wonderfully made”
but that God is acquainted with all our ways (Psalms 139:3) before we are even conceived. Our
