1.Objective: The teacher will teach a lesson about the 5 food groups.
Correction: The students will be given a diagram showing the food chain pyramid, the
students will be able to identify and list each of the five groups of food in their correct
boxes.
Explanation: The objective didn’t give complete understanding of what the teacher was
going to teach. The correction is because the students will be able to recognize and point
to one or more items in a menu and explain where in the food chain they are eating from.
2.Objective: After instruction on the French and Indian War, each student will write a
report with 95% accuracy.
Correction: The students will gain information of the French and Indian War, each
student will be able to give a report on explain at least 5 of the major events that took
place.
Explanation: The condition of the students was not given in the objective and the
criterion allows the students to display their knowledge of the information.
3.Objective: Given a list of vocabulary words, each student will learn the meaning of 90%
of their vocabulary words.
Correction: Given a list of vocabulary words, each student should be able to accurately
write each word and their definition behind the correct word, with at least 9/10 correct.
Explanation: The specific tool for the condition was in the objective but the
performance is measurable because you can identify whether they defined the word
correctly. The criterion is appropriate because accurately defining 9/10 vocabulary words
on the list is an acceptable level of performance.
4.Objective: Given a quiz, the student will list 8/10 action verbs.
Correction: The students will be given a sentence quiz on action verbs, the student will
be able to correctly identify the action verb by circling the action verb within each
sentence, with at lest 8/10 verbs circled correctly
Explanation: I gave the students a more specific tool to accomplish the performance.
The performance is measurable if they can identify whether they circled the correct verb
within each sentence. The criterion is appropriate because accurately circling 8/10 verbs
is an acceptable level of performance.
5.Objective: Given instruction on reading a paragraph, the student will read the paragraph
with no mistakes.
Correction: Given paragraph 5 from page 130 of the reading and language book, the
student will the paragraph with no mistakes.
Explanation- The condition needed a more specific tool the students didn’t know where
they were reading the paragraph from.
