Abstract
Math autobiography all about Kaitlin Holden aka me. This is basically all about my history with
Math and how I got to the point I’m at today. It’s been a long hard badly when it comes to this
subject and something I struggle with. I can’t wait to let you in on my history that comes with
this subject. I will also let you in on how I feel about the different levels of math in education
and who were my supporters in this subject. When it comes to math, I have a lot of trouble with
it and I can’t wait to let you know why that is.

Math Autobiography
A girl that loves her small town but not some of the things that come with that. Living in
a small town it’s hard to get teachers to work for our school system. There are many years that
we were almost unaccreted and to this day in our school system we don’t have enough teachers.
My high school hurts from that especially the math department lacks what students need to learn.
When it comes to math I struggle because throughout high school I didn’t have the teachers to be
able to learn the correct way or understand it, this has led me to the ways I feel about the
different levels of mathematics and I have teachers that were supporters but ones that weren’t in
the math department.
Learning the Subject
Starting off with elementary, I don’t really remember much but I know that I had amazing
teachers. The same way with middle school but the crunch time and the years that mean the most
was in high school. My freshmen year of high school math was amazing, the teacher was very
clear and always there to help you if you didn’t understand something. After my freshmen year
he left our math department and after that the math department went downhill. When I completed
all my math classes required to graduated, I tried to complete an extra math and had to drop out
of the class because I didn’t understand it and wasn’t getting the help from the teacher.
Different Levels When it comes to teaching math, I start feeling very anxious because I
don’t want to let my future students down. I know how it feels to be let down and not be taught
the right way. At the elementary level math is very important it is the beginning of a student
learning something that they have never known about. In the elementary level, students begin to

learn how to count, tell time, adding, subtracting, and so on. Every level of math the students
learn more and more that can help them down the road.
Middle school level you get to learn more about math and higher levels of adding,
dividing, measurement, and probability. Then comes the crunch time the last four years of your
public-school education. You will be able to find out how to use math in your finances and how
to have better problem-solving skills. No matter the level of math a student is at, many students
have anxiety when it comes to learning it. Math is an important thing to learn, it is something
students can use in their everyday daily lives.
Supporters My freshmen year math teacher Mr. Clark was the only math teacher in high
school that I learned something from and understood. One of my biggest supporters is my
kindergarten teacher Mrs. Wood who has always pushed me to do my fullest potential. I feel like
she is one that has helped shaped my future. Even though my other supporter doesn’t teach math,
I did use math in her class to measure things. That teacher would be my family consumer science
teacher Mrs. Ficklin. Those teachers I would say is two of my biggest supporters in education.
Conclusion That sums up my history with math and how it has put me where I am today. In
the result of having not that great help with math in high school, I have had to take more math
classes in college. Hopefully this class and my other math classes help me learn more and better
understand this subject, so that I can teach my future students to my fullest potential. Psalms
90:12 states that “So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.” When it
