The assessments in easyCBM are general outcome curriculum-based measures (CBM)
which are standardized measures that sample from a years worth of curriculum to
assess the degree to which students have mastered the skills and knowledge deemed
necessary and critical at each grade level.
The easy CBM assessment is designed to give teachers insight into which of their
students may need additional instructional supports as well as to provide a means by
which they can measure the effectiveness of their teaching.
Numbers and Operations
The easy CBM Numbers and Operations Assessment measures simple arithmetic, word
problems including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
According to the data from the CBM Basic Numbers and Operations, Amaya is
currently performing on a First Grade level.
Geometry
This subtest measures the ability to recognize parallel, perpendicular, horizontal,
and vertical lines. It also includes the student’s ability to identify basic shapes,
identify lines of symmetry, acute, right, obtuse, and right angles.
According to the data from the easy CBM Geometry Subtest, Amaya is currently
performing on a First Grade Level.
Algebra and Algebraic Thinking
This subtest measures a students ability to fluently multiply and divide within a
100, using strategies such as the relationship between multiplication and division,
or properties of operations. The subtest also measures the student’s ability to
find missing factors and dividends within a one and two step equation.
According to the data from the easy CBM Algebraic Thinking subtest Amaya is
performing below a first grade level.
