The education of students with disabilities is discussed in Chapter 1 of Beattie andO’brien text.
Timeline educating students impairments is covered in this chapter. The educational system has
evolved throughout time, moving away from regulating disable kids and toward a more
comprehensive environment in which children with disabilities are served in general education
settings. Nevertheless, w hile people support the move to a less restricted setting, others
disagree, believing that students with disabilities should not be in the same classroom as their
peers. Many people perceive this as a result of ineffective inclusive practices. The bible
addresses these behaviors, and God needs acceptance of individuals for who they are, because
we all have a role to perform on the team.
