1. Displays a sense of Social responsibility
and the belief that all students can learn
Fruit of the Spirit: Love, Joy, Peace,
Goodness (Gal 5:22,23)
All students can learn and are teachable to
learn. One student may be faster than the
other when it comes to one subject, but then
that same student can be faster in a different
subject. It is important as an educator to find
your students strengths and weaknesses to be
able to help them learn better. For example, if
one student loves video games, try to
incorporate video games in a lesson for that
specific assignment. Provide certain examples
of what the students love into their
assignments which will allow them to show
an interest in learning.
2. Demonstrates Commitment and Work
ethic
Fruit of the Spirit: Faithfulness,
Longsuffering (Gal 5:22,23)
Teaching a student is a huge responsibility as
an educator. God places educators on a high
pedestal to teach children and lead them
astray. That is why when teaching children, it
is important to seek God. It is important to see
children through their struggles and not to
give up on them. It is easy as an educator to
allow our own struggles to overpower our
children’s struggles. As an educator you will
always be learning and developing as a
teacher. As a future educator I want to be able
to be current with the latest strategies and
techniques that could be useful in my
classroom.
3. Demonstrates Reflective practice
Fruit of the Spirit: Faithfulness (Gal 5:22,23)
It is important to gather from experiences
provided by other educators and learn from
your mentors who have been in the education
field longer. It is impossible to ignore
wisdom, as a new educator you do not know
it all and it is important to accept the help and
listen to the advice being given. The students
deserve a teacher who is open to feedback and
wanting to find ways to help their classroom
environment blossom for their students to be
able to blossom as well. It is important to
remain steadfast in God. At the end of each
day, it is important to reflect on your day and
how you treated the students and ways to
improve which will not only help your
students but also help you as the educator.
4. Displays personal Integrity
Fruit of the Spirit: Goodness (Gal 5:22,23)
Integrity is something important to me and
will be required by students as well. It is
important that I show my students to always

tell the truth regardless of the consequences.
It is better to tell the truth and face the
aftermath rather than telling a lie and
remembering that lie to cover up another. It is
important to not only preach the walk but
walk the walk. If I don’t know the answer to
their question, I will not make up an answer.
The student and I will find out together so
that way we are both knowledgeable. If a
parent needs clarification on something
regarding an assignment or even their child, I
also will be truthful. I will respect the lives of
my students and remind them that our
classroom is our safe space. I will never share
information with anyone who does not need
to know. I demonstrate trustworthiness in my
actions with students, parents, colleagues, and
administration. It is important to not only see
gray but black and gray.
5. Displays Professionalism in behavior and
actions
Fruit of the Spirit: Gentleness, Meekness,
Temperance (Gal 5:22,23)
The moment I step inside my classroom, the
worries I had before will go away. I don’t
want my personal matters to affect the energy
I bring into my classroom nor allow that
energy to rub off on my students. I work for
my students every day, so it is important to
have a positive mindset. My goal is to always
remain respectful and learn from all areas. I
am a huge fan of constructive criticism when
it comes to my work. I want to be able to
improve in my career. When there is an issue
with a colleague, I want to be able to handle
that matter with the colleague rather than
gossiping. As an educator it is important to
also dress the part. Making sure I maintain a
respectful dress code that my students want to
be able to “copy” one day. Professionalism as
an educator is important.
