Biblical Worldview in Education
From the moment humans are born, they observe the world around them and search for
understanding and purpose. By observing one’s surroundings, humans can take a glimpse at
reality to better understand life and the world around them. This process of putting the pieces
together is called creating a worldview. Worldviews are essential for all of society, and humans
can better shape their beliefs through learning and using these findings to answer existential
questions. In America, the majority of Americans believe in Christianity. For Christians, God is
the ultimate source of truth, and He has gifted His people with knowledge through scripture,
nature, history, and the cross. Rather than implementing the Lord’s truth in the classroom, public
school systems have created a curriculum that separates Christianity from the classroom despite
the majority of the student body being made up of Christians. Rather than accepting mankind’s
imperfect doctrine, Christian educators should implement a philosophy of education that uses
scriptures and other biblical teachings to give students a well-rounded education that develops
their worldview for life outside of the classroom.

Regardless of beliefs, all humans have a worldview whether they realize it or not.
Through observations, people create opinions and beliefs that shape their perspectives of how
they see the world around them. These beliefs are referred to as worldviews. Worldviews can
stem from childhood experiences, education, and the culture they come from. For Christians,
their world is centered around the fact that God is the creator of heaven and earth, Jesus is the
