Status Quo represents the current state of affairs concerning political and social
endeavors. The sociological factor incorporates maintenance or change to the existing social
values and structure. Political factor constitutes the conditions existing at the moment as well as
the method confirmatory team employs to solve relating to the current condition. This paper
seeks to discuss elements of change and importance of change relating to status quo within the
healthcare industry.
Social movements are elements, which stimulates challenge to the status quo. In this
regard, a social movement arises to terminate the comfort and satisfactory condition that society
portrays concerning a certain negative situation (Hsieh, 2015). For instance, existing methods of
operating patients in healthcare industry require immediate change due to rising in deadly
diseases. Social movements arise to change this condition and fights for rights to education.
Politics plays a key role in changing the status quo since it faces less resistant from the
society as compared to social movements (Hsieh, 2015). However, politicians sometimes support
status quo when deliberate ambiguity policy is adopted. Therefore, it is important to vote
politicians who are change-centric since they will support social movements endeavors and lead
to terminating the status quo of a society.
Changing the status quo is an important aspect in reducing current societal issues. It helps
in establishing new means of handling issues, which are less risky and result in the beneficial
aspect of a society (Hsieh, 2015). Recently, status quo change nurtures innovation and has led to
current technological advances where social movements elements seek to research and develop
new ways of handling issues.

Conclusively, status quo hinders development and requires an immediate change to
enhance development and innovation on new ways to handle issues. The healthcare industry
requires an immediate change in handling patients due to the rise of new deadly diseases. It
requires consistent research that aims at enhancing the industry compatibility and capability to
face new diseases.
