ACTION RESEARCH CASE STUDY: STATUS UPDATE TEMPLATE
Summary of Work in Progress
I have completed two parts of the “Action Research Case Study,” and honestly it has been an eye
opener working close with Ms. Joyner. So far, throughout this process, there has been some
positive improvement with the students adjusting to their stations but the main concern that Ms.
Joyner has been questioning is the lack of engagement of some of the students who really need this
accommodation in the classroom setting. Ms. Joyner, I and the ILT (Instructional Lead Teacher)
meet twice a week to go over past and present test scores and classroom work samples, gave us a
better view of what we can tweak to accommodate each student no matter their ability. As a team
we created a plan for some students to utilize for their future assignments and we plan to utilize a
focus lesson that will last 10-15 minutes at the start of class.
