2. What did you consider to be the most difficult problem facing young-
Earth creation?
1. What did you consider to be the strongest argument that he presents
for young Earth creation? Why is that?

I believe the best argument presented, when viewed from the perspective of a skeptic is Galileo’s
letter to The Grand Duchess. “These propositions uttered by the Holy Ghost were set down in
that manner by the sacred scribes in order to accommodate them to the capacities of the common
people, who are rude and unlearned.” This is an argument I have discussed multiple times
without being aware of it having the backing of a great philosopher. A lot of things may have
been worded better in the Bible originally, however as the word of the Bible was spread, it
needed to be lowered to a level that the common people could comprehend. As the ability to read
became more and more widespread it was likely brought to an even simpler level so that the
masses could read and have a chance at comprehending the words within the Bible.
The weird rift between evolutionary theorists and Young Earth Creationists is probably the
biggest problem in my own view. A lot of the theorists tend to say it is one or the other, creating
such an odd black and white argument. I mostly wonder why there is no grey area in the middle?
Why do these theorists say it must be one or the other? This odd dichotomy is probably one of
the main losing points for the Young Earth Creation argument, and even pushes me away to a
certain degree. I believe a lot of truth can be found in the grey area in between the popular
theories and ideas. I think that they can fill holes in each other and in some cases supplement
points that the other side makes. Standing alone and standing apart they do not tend to make
much sense.
