ESEARCH PAPER: TOPIC
ROGRESSIVE CREATION
ELECTION
AY-AGE
1 3
Progressive Creation is the belief that the universe's origin is tied to the big-bang theory
and occurred between 13-15 billion years ago. Progressive Creation teaches that God created the
earth millions of years ago and that as species went extinct he created more. It also teaches that
there were manlike creatures before the creation of Adam and Eve, but because they were not
created by God they can have no hope of salvation. Another key feature of this theory of
creation is the belief in pain and suffering before the fall of man.
I picked this topic because I was unaware of it, and I would love to learn more about it. It
amazes me that people believe that God would need to take millions of years to create and
populate the earth when Genesis talks about what God created each day. In Genesis 1:2 it says,
“Now the earth was formless and empty”, this shows that progressive creationist’s beliefs are
wrong, There were no humanlike creatures before the creation of man, as the birds, sea creatures,
and land animals were all created even before Adam and Eve. I cannot wait to further explore the
24hr creation theory, and learn how to better understand it against other theories.
