CRST 290 Forum #4:
Living as a college student in a world that strays more from the
word of God each day, anything associated with Christianity or
the belief in the Bible’s preciseness is greatly looked down upon.
Even though I am a devout Christian that believes in every word
of the Bible, it is so enriching to see how the amount of scientific
confirmation made by creation scientists. It was incredible to read
through the articles in Answers in Genesis concerning scientific
predictions that have been tested to be spot-on accurate.
Among various confirmed results, the one that baffled me the
most was made by physicist John Baumgardner in the 1980’s. He
established a creationist theory to explain the rapid motion of the
earth’s crust that would have taken place during Noah’s flood.
According the Baumgardner, the “cold” crust that was originally
located underneath the pre-Flood oceans would have sunk
approximately 1,800 miles to the earth’s hot mantle. If it sank
quickly over the course of 4,350 years then these plates should
be found at the base of the mantle. Contrary to the young earth
scientists, evolutionists believe that this crust should have melted
into the base of the mantle.
Once the technology was invented, Baumgardner’s theory and
model for the “cold” crust was proven true. These are added
scientific evidence that the young earth model, the Flood and the
rapid movement of continents following the Flood is true!
The greatest surprise of scientists believing in a literal Genesis is
that they actually exist. From a young age, the educational
system teaches that religious beliefs cannot correlate or be
compared to the caliber of government and science. In fact, they
are placed on a higher pedestal, disregarding any claims that
may have a religious root. Personally, just from the time of
starting this course, I have been taken aback by the amount of
effort and scientific study that organizations, like the RATE team,
have conducted to defend the real Genesis explained in the Bible.
